Social Finance Communications Consultant
Delhi / Mumbai
Location: Mumbai/Delhi or remote
Engagement Type: Full-time consultancy (fee-based)
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Strategic Communications & Thought Leadership
- Support the development and delivery of BAT’s Social Finance communications strategy and priorities.
- Draft and edit thought leadership outputs (blogs, op-eds, articles, knowledge briefs, case studies, and more).
- Work with leadership to position British Asian Trust as a credible voice in outcomes-based financing and innovative finance in India.
- Contribute to speeches, presentations, and event materials for leadership teams.
- Track trends in social finance and proactively identify opportunities for BAT to showcase expertise.
Programme Communications
- Drive communications support for the Skill Impact Bond, LiftEd, NEST Outcomes Facility, and Outcomes Readiness programme, ensuring clear, compelling, and consistent messaging for multiple partners across multiple channels for multiple audiences.
- Translate technical programme outcomes and insights into accessible, engaging content for stakeholders.
- Produce social media content, blogs, op-eds, articles, reports, decks, infographics, newsletters, case studies, and field stories to highlight programme impact.
- Support partners’ communications requirements and multi-stakeholder communications and coordination across programmes.
Event Support
- Provide communications and coordination support to BAT for programme-related events such as launches, roundtables, panel discussions, and annual convenings.
- Develop event collateral (invitations, agendas, presentations, talking points, social media content).
- Liaise with vendors, agencies, and venues to ensure smooth delivery of events.
- Manage live coverage (social media, photography, video capture) and post-event visibility outputs.
Digital & Media Engagement
- Manage social finance-related content for BAT’s digital channels (social media, newsletters, website).
- Create engaging content including graphics, short videos, and explainers for digital posts and campaigns.
- Support media engagement including drafting press releases, coordinating with journalists, and tracking coverage.
- Report on communications metrics and track visibility outcomes.
Cross-team Coordination
- Work closely with both the Social Finance team and Communications team to align messages with the overall organisational brand.
- Coordinate with programme teams to ensure timely collection of stories, updates, and visuals.
- Maintain communications calendars, trackers, and repositories of social finance outputs.
- Liaise with design, video, and content agencies to deliver high-quality products.
- REPORTING AND COMMUNICATION
- The Consultant’s Reporting Manager will be communicated at the time of onboarding. This reporting structure may be revised from time to time based on the evolving needs and operational requirements of the British Asian Trust. The Consultant shall provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and successes to Reporting Manager at BAT as per an agreed-upon schedule (e.g., weekly, bi-weekly).
- The Consultant shall submit detailed progress reports summarizing activities, achievements against targets, and future as per periodicity decided by the Reporting Manager at BAT.
- All communication regarding this SOW and program activities shall be conducted professionally and in a timely manner.
