You’ll be at the intersection of thoughtful employee experience and seamless operational execution, helping to scale our people infrastructure in a way that’s human, modern, and built for growth.
This is not your traditional HRBP role. You’ll partner with a subset of our business units to drive smart org design, coach managers, and ensure teams are set up for success. Simultaneously, you’ll own the evolution of our People Ops engine—bringing rigor and creativity to how we manage systems, benefits, policies, and internal processes.
You’ll play a critical role in translating engagement insights into action and helping us operationalize our values through every employee touchpoint. This role is perfect for someone who’s energized by building and refining—someone who can elevate existing foundations while helping shape what’s next. You’ll be a culture carrier, a systems thinker, and a key architect of a modern, people-first HR function.
What you’ll do
- Be a trusted HRBP to assigned teams—supporting managers on org planning, employee development, and team effectiveness.
- Lead mid-level employee relations with professionalism and care; escalate complex issues when needed.
- Make People Ops run smarter—oversee systems (like Lattice + Justworks), benefits admin, vendor relationships, and HR policy implementation.
- Drive compliance and integrity in partnership with Legal and Finance—ensuring everything from labor law to audits is handled right.
- Manage our PEO relationship and serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day escalations and process improvement.
- Optimize processes like onboarding, offboarding, leave tracking, and policy updates—always with an eye toward scale and employee experience.
- Use data to inform decisions—tracking key People metrics and sharing insights that guide strategy and action.
- Support performance cycles, promotions, and internal communications that connect employees to our mission and goals.
What Success Looks Like
- Quickly builds fluency in our People systems (e.g., JustWorks, Lattice) and takes ownership of day-to-day HR operations with precision and accountability.
- Brings empathy, sound judgment, and appropriate discretion to employee relation issues.
- Continuously looks for ways to improve People Ops processes; prioritizing simplification and scalability.
- Proactively embeds equity and inclusion into daily workflows, decision-making, and team support—making it part of “how” the work gets done.
- Operates with clarity and calm in a fast-paced environment, setting clear priorities and managing tradeoffs accordingly.
We're looking for someone who brings
- 3–4 years of HR experience, including experience supporting managers or business units directly.
- Comfort with HR systems, benefits platforms, and PEOs (we use Justworks and Lattice).
- Strong judgment and calm under pressure—you know how to prioritize and move things forward in ambiguity.
- A proactive, solution-first mindset—you’re not afraid to fix what’s broken or try something new.
- A deep belief in equity, inclusion, and building structures where people thrive.
- Curiosity about how AI, data, and automation can make People teams more impactful.
- A love of details—especially when they make life easier for employees and teams.

Compensation & Benefits
At Brooklinen, we’re committed to providing a competitive total compensation package—grounded in market data that considers our size, stage, industry, and location. For this role, the base salary range is between $90K - $110K.

- Vacation: Start with 20 days of vacation per year (pro-rated by start date). After five years with us, you’ll enjoy 25 days of vacation annually.
- Sabbatical: At your five-year anniversary, take a fully paid, one-month sabbatical.
- Hybrid Schedule: We require all HQ team members to work in the office for two days each week during our core days (Tuesday to Thursday), with Tuesday being mandatory company-wide. Our office is open and inviting—come in as often as you like!
- Remote Work Weeks: Enjoy additional flexibility with remote weeks, including Thanksgiving week, the last week of December, and up to four additional remote weeks per year, with manager approval.
