Senior UX Research Contractor

About the Role

Brooklinen is looking for a Senior UX Research Contractor to lead critical research during the final phase of our strategic redesign project. This role will focus on validating new site experiences through usability testing and launch-readiness research, ensuring our redesigned site meets user needs and delivers a frictionless shopping experience ahead of our January 2026 launch.

This is a contract role, ideal for a seasoned researcher who thrives in fast-paced, pre-launch environments and can quickly translate findings into actionable design recommendations.

Engagement Details

  • Location: Remote

  • Timeline: October–November 2025 (6 weeks / 3 sprints)

  • Hours: ~20–30 hours/week (120–180 total hours)

  • Compensation: $75–$85/hour

What You’ll Do

  • Lead mixed-method research across moderated and unmoderated usability testing, surveys, and benchmarking

  • Validate core site flows (homepage, PLPs, PDPs, navigation, checkout) to identify high-risk usability issues

  • Own research operations end-to-end, including participant recruiting, scheduling, and logistics

  • Synthesize findings into clear, executive-friendly deliverables such as:

    • Findings deck (success rates, conversion friction, navigation clarity)

    • Prioritized recommendations (critical → low)

    • Launch readiness scorecard and go/no-go assessment

  • Partner cross-functionally with design, product, brand, and engineering teams to ensure insights are integrated ahead of code freeze

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of UX research experience (in-house or agency); e-commerce/transactional platform background strongly preferred

  • Expertise in mixed methods: moderated/unmoderated usability testing, surveys, benchmarking (e.g., SUS, NPS)

  • Proven track record of turning research insights into business impact

  • Experience with research operations: recruiting, incentive management, and session logistics

  • Skilled at distilling complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for cross-functional and executive audiences

  • Proficiency with tools such as UserTesting, Figma, Miro, Notion

  • Comfort working under tight timelines in a pre-launch environment

  • Application requirement: Please include a link to your portfolio (and password if applicable), with case studies highlighting usability testing, launch-readiness research, and/or e-commerce experience

About Brooklinen

Brooklinen, one of the largest soft good DTC brands in the US, was founded in 2014 with one goal in mind: to create happiness at home with products that are made to be lived in.

While you may have heard of us as “The Internet’s Favorite Sheets,” ten years later, we’re so much more than that. We design with the modern bedroom in mind – a place full of life, where people can authentically show up as themselves – all with products made for comfort and ease. And to make good on the promise of value, Brooklinen creates all of our products with the best quality, at the best price. Our premium soft goods are available online and throughout the country at our eight retail locations.

Our products are that good. But don’t take it from us alone: our assortment of sheets, towels, and more have received over 100,000 5-star reviews and been awarded many times over by industry tastemakers like Architectural Digest, Good Housekeeping, The New York Times’ Wirecutter, and many more.

Note for recruiting agencies: We oversee our hiring internally, and we kindly ask that recruitment agencies refrain from sending us unsolicited resumes unless we have a pre-existing agreement for a particular role. We’re excited about welcoming all applicants who are interested in joining our team to apply directly!

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
