Account Director
The Opportunity
Brunswick Group is seeking an experienced Account Director to join our fast-paced and rapidly expanding New York office.

About the Role
Client Contribution & Handling
- Develop a strong working relationship with the client and earn their trust
- Produce high quality client account ‘essentials’ that showcase the expertise, thinking, judgement and research behind our recommendations and strategic advice
- Draft press releases, Q&As and key message documents
- Leverage in-house AI tools and other resources to manage workload and keep deliverables on track, on time and of the highest quality
- Manage upwards and downwards to ensure the team are fully informed and prepared for client work
- Contribute to brainstorms and pitch preparation
- Think on a strategic and tactical level about client issues and account development
- Show an ongoing interest in and grasp of market intelligence, and share that with clients appropriately
- Deliver ideas, direction and content to the account team
Contribution to the Firm
- Establish and maintain strong client and internal relationships, ensuring high-quality deliverables and responsiveness across multiple time-sensitive engagements
- Draw insights and opportunities from your personal and professional networks and leverage that knowledge appropriately on behalf of the Firm and our clients
- Participate in and contribute to training sessions where appropriate and take advantage of the learning and engagement opportunities when available
Teamwork and Collaborative Approach
- Act as the ‘eyes and the ears’ of the team, always aware of team workstreams/movements/ deadlines
- Share ideas, knowledge and recommendations with the wider team
- Earn the respect of their peers/colleagues and treat people with respect, lead by example
Communication Skills – Engagement with Media and Other Audiences
- Demonstrate and develop a deep understanding of our clients’ media universe and the key contacts within it
- Establish a network of media and other stakeholder contacts
- Be well-informed on all relevant sector/client newswires and key media; proactively monitoring and sharing coverage, insights of key influencers
- Seek to establish relationships with journalists and/or other audiences; handle difficult media issues with ease
- Provide input into corporate positioning media strategy to build engaging programs, then identify new angles in order to sell stories to a range of different media
What We're Looking For

- At least 4-7 years of relevant work experience; corporate communications or agency experience a plus
- Experience in an advisory role with working knowledge of and an interest in the capital markets and a range of financial situations involving U.S. public and large private companies
- Familiarity with the media landscape
- Deep understanding of business and finance
- Knowledge of Factiva, Bloomberg and other research resources
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Problem-solving abilities
- Ability to think strategically and creatively
- Exhibit discretion with confidential client matters
- International work experience or knowledge a plus
Ideal Candidate
- A communications advisor with experience counseling clients on corporate issues (e.g. crisis, M&A, financial situations, etc.)
- Adept at navigating and succeeding within high-performance, entrepreneurial environments
- Excellent communicator with professional polish and strong emotional intelligence

The successful applicant will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits package:
Base Pay: The annual base compensation range for this role is $95,000 - $120,000. The base pay offered will be determined by factors including experience, skills, training, office location, certifications, and education.
Bonus Eligibility: Annual discretionary bonus contingent upon individual and firm-wide performance.
