Location: New York or Washington DC 

This position will be assigned at the Associate or Manager level, depending on the candidate’s work experience. 

Position Overview 

The Global Events, Associate/Manager is a key member of BSR’s Marketing and Communications team, implementing strategy, logistics, marketing, and evaluation of webinars and regional events across our offices in the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The person in this role also will work closely with the Membership and Engagement teams to design convenings that deliver valuable information and networking for representatives of BSR’s 300+ member companies, with peer-to-peer engagement and knowledge sharing, conveying BSR insights and expertise, and demonstrating best practices and impacts, in support of BSR’s overall mission.    

The successful candidate will be adept at: 

  • Executing an overall events strategy set by organizational leadership.
  • Supporting our global teams in North America, Europe and Asia managing and planning events throughout the year, including webinars.
  • Developing innovative and compelling event formats aligned with the events strategy. 
  • Creating effective marketing messages that promote our events to current members and prospective members.
  • Tracking and evaluating event KPIs  
  • Delivering flawless and high-quality events, including implementation of all logistical aspects of event execution (both in-person and virtual).

Key Responsibilities

Event Strategy and Program Design 

  • Design convenings in collaboration with subject matter experts to align with BSR’s priorities and member needs.
  • Serve as the lead project manager for BSR’s global event portfolio, ensuring seamless execution, budget oversight, and planning processes. 

Event Execution and Logistics 

  • Oversee all aspects of event execution, including venue selection, vendor management, audiovisual and tech coordination, run-of-show development, and day-of logistics.
  • Build and manage event timelines, budgets, and staffing plans as needed.
  • Provide guidance, resources, and training to staff on event best practices. 

Event Marketing and Internal Communications 

  • Collaborate with the Membership and Marketing and Communications teams to develop compelling event copy, email invitations, and promotional content.
  • Manage the event intake process and website updates.
  • Lead internal communications to ensure staff are informed.
  • Oversee post-event reporting, tracking outcomes, and opportunities for improvement. 

Marketing Partnerships and Speaker Placement 

  • Support partnerships with high-profile sustainability and business events.
  • Maintain a calendar of external speaking opportunities aligned with BSR’s strategic priorities.
  • Work with subject matter experts and leadership to pitch BSR speakers. 

Compensation

At BSR we have implemented a transparent total compensation framework with an emphasis on internal equity. In order to maintain our equity, our hiring rates for this position is listed below. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience and cohort level determination

US:

Associate- $73,252

Manager- $89,559

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of experience in event management, strategic communications, or stakeholder engagement—ideally within sustainability or mission-driven sectors.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting event descriptions and marketing copy.
  • Collaborative mindset with confidence in managing internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Commitment to operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Experience tracking and analyzing key performance indicators.
  • Experience with Salesforce Campaigns, Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot), and Zoom Events is a plus.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to BSR core values of leadership, respect, and integrity
