ABOUT US

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Business Development VP to lead and scale bswift’s partner ecosystem, strengthen our market position, and drive sustained revenue growth through strategic alliances and integrations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Business Development VP is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing bswift’s overall partnership strategy. This role owns the vision, governance, and performance of integration and alliance partnerships that expand bswift’s capabilities, accelerate growth, and enhance client outcomes.
Working cross functionally with executive leadership, product, sales, technology, and operations teams—as well as senior leaders at partner organizations—this role ensures that partnerships are strategically aligned, commercially successful, and operationally scalable.

Executive Partnership Strategy & Leadership
- Define and lead bswift’s enterprise wide partnership and alliance strategy, aligned with corporate growth objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic partners that expand market reach, enhance product capabilities, or unlock new revenue streams.
- Serve as the executive sponsor for key integration and alliance relationships.
Senior Relationship Management & Advocacy
- Act as the senior executive point of contact for strategic partners and select enterprise clients.
- Build and sustain trusted, long-term relationships with C‑suite and executive‑level stakeholders.
- Advocate for partner priorities internally while balancing bswift’s strategic and commercial objectives.
Revenue Growth & Commercial Excellence
- Own revenue outcomes tied to partnerships, including pipeline development, deal structure, and long-term growth targets.
- Lead complex, high value negotiations involving commercial terms, product offerings, and financial models.
- Ensure partnership agreements are structured to maximize value, scalability, and profitability.
Consultative Selling & Market Expansion
- Partner with Sales leadership to support complex enterprise selling motions involving partners.
- Position bswift as a market leader by articulating differentiated value propositions that combine technology, services, and partner capabilities.
- Leverage market trends, competitive intelligence, and data insights to inform strategy and investment decisions.
Product Integration & Cross Functional Alignment
- Collaborate with Product, Technology, and Operations leaders to define and prioritize partner integration strategies.
- Ensure partner solutions are effectively enabled within the bswift platform and delivered seamlessly to clients.
- Establish governance models, success metrics, and operational processes to support scalable integrations.
Market Presence & Industry Leadership
- Represent bswift externally at industry forums, conferences, and strategic events.
- Cultivate executive level relationships across the benefits, HR technology, and insurance ecosystems.
- Elevate bswift’s brand and influence through thought leadership and strategic collaboration.
Team Leadership & Organizational Impact
- Build, lead, and mentor a high performing business development and partnerships team.
- Set clear goals, performance metrics, and development plans aligned to enterprise objectives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and strategic execution.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Required Education and Experience)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or strategic alliances.
- Demonstrated success leading complex partnerships in benefits administration, HR technology, software, or insurance‑related industries.
- Experience defining and operationalizing an enterprise-wide partnership strategy, including governance models, partner segmentation, and success metrics.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling structured partner ecosystems (e.g., carriers, payroll providers, brokers, HR tech platforms), not just managing individual relationships.
- Experience driving productized integrations or platform partnerships, including collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of integration dependencies, limitations, and scaling challenges within SaaS or platform-based ecosystems.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Skills & Abilities
- Deep expertise in partnership models, alliance strategy, and enterprise deal structures.
- Executive level relationship‑building and influence skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience owning revenue and growth outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead cross functional initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Education and Experience)
- Experience scaling partner ecosystems in a high growth technology or services organization.
- Prior leadership experience managing senior level business development or alliance teams.
- Benefits administration or HR technology platform experience.

Specific benefit offerings vary by position and may be subject to change.
Standard working hours are 8am-5pm Central Time, unless otherwise stated in the Job Description.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $140,000-$150,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at bswift, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package!
