Quantitative Strategist – Equities & Market Structure, APAC

Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks a senior, desk-embedded quantitative strategist to work across trading, sales, and corporate broking in APAC equities. You will sit directly alongside traders, salespeople, and corporate brokers — turning data into better decisions, better client conversations, and better outcomes. 

The successful candidate will build live desk tools and produce market insights, supporting client-facing and corporate broking activities. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain desk tools supporting execution analytics, factor models, options pricing, and risk overlays
  • Analyze market structure, venue behavior, and order flow to generate actionable execution insight
  • Produce desk commentary and client notes on market structure, execution trends, and live market events
  • Support Sales Traders with portfolio analytics, execution analysis, and hedging frameworks
  • Support corporate broking with quantitative analysis on shareholder dynamics, capital markets positioning, and valuation context
  • Work with trading and technology to assess algo performance, routing logic, and execution outcomes

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in equities market microstructure, execution analytics, TCA, factor modelling, or derivatives pricing
  • Strong quantitative background in finance, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Python (required); SQL and data visualization tools (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of APAC markets structure including lit venues, dark liquidity, and institutional execution workflows
  • Proven ability to translate quantitative work into concise, commercially relevant client content
  • Experience working on or alongside a trading desk strongly preferred
  • Multi-tasker, with a focus on effective prioritization and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
