Job Summary:

The CPG Retail Demand Planner will be responsible for developing and executing demand forecasts across multiple accounts, accounting for market trends and other variables, and coordinating with the Sales, Operations, and Finance departments to ensure optimal financial planning and inventory levels. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in demand planning, forecasting, and supply chain management within the CPG industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting:

• Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for the full portfolio of products across multiple retail channels.
• Develop and maintain annual stretch goal demand forecast, target demand forecast, and minimum demand forecasts.
•  Utilize statistical models and business intelligence tools to predict future demand and maintain a moving forecast. 
• Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to refine forecasts. 
• Stay updated with industry trends, opportunities, and risks affecting demand. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

• Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to gather information and align on business objectives. 
• Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings to align demand plans with business strategies. 
• Collaborate with supply chain and inventory management teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels are driven by the demand plan. 

Performance Monitoring: 

• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning and forecasting accuracy. 
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting demand trends and variances. 

Continuous Improvement: 

• Identify opportunities to improve demand planning processes and implement best practices. 
• Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. 
• 6-8 years of experience in demand planning, sales forecasting, or a related role within the Retail & CPG industry including DTC, Amazon, and large retailers. 
• Experience in sales and demand forecasting for international markets is a plus. 
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools. 
• Proficiency in demand planning software is a plus (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, JDA, O9). 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
