Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Supply Planning Manager to join our dynamic team. This influential role works closely with the Head of Supply Chain, NPD (New Product Development), the Commercial Planning team, and suppliers to craft and execute strategic plans that foster business growth and maximize profitability. The Supply Planning Manager will ensure timely global supply, optimize inventory management, and support the successful execution of worldwide product launches.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
- Provide leadership in developing and executing supply chain strategies to support business needs, including inventory management, production planning, and global service levels.
Launch Management:
- Collaborate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to coordinate new product launches, ensuring availability, adherence to timelines, and risk mitigation.
- Lead root cause analysis and provide corrective action plans when timelines are off track.
Market Agility:
- Drive agility projects with suppliers and manufacturers to improve responsiveness to market demand and enhance flexibility across the supply chain.
Data Accuracy & Reporting:
- Maintain high accuracy in master data, SKU productivity, and inventory management while presenting project updates and other relevant insights to senior management as needed.
Inventory Optimization:
- Proactively monitor and manage inventory levels to meet demand without overstocking or shortages.
- Recommend inventory allocation strategies for commercial teams, especially for launches and low-cover SKUs.
- Address excess and obsolete inventory targets, driving cost-efficiency.
Performance Improvement:
- Identify obstacles, influence decision-making to drive performance enhancements, and escalate issues to management with proposed solutions in a timely manner.
Budgeting & Financial Alignment:
- Aid in preparing budgets and providing trend analyses to Finance teams to align supply planning with business goals.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner with commercial teams to understand local market trends and review launch performance.
- Work with contract manufacturers and NPD teams to manage launch timelines, ensuring on-time and in-full (OTIF) deliveries.
- Facilitate communication with senior management regarding availability and supply chain updates.
Supplier Management:
- Negotiate with suppliers to optimize costs, establish ordering cadences in line with MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) pricing, and eliminate the need for air shipping.
Production Planning:
- Evaluate and challenge production plans to prevent shortages or overproduction while ensuring efficient use of resources.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in supply planning, inventory management, and global supply chain coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional project management abilities, including timeline and risk management.
- Effective communication skills, presenting to senior leadership and collaborating across teams.
- Hands-on experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers in a fast-paced environment.
- A results-oriented mindset with a relentless focus on cost optimization and efficiency.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the beauty or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Familiarity with beauty packaging development and inventory practices.
- Expertise in MS excel, MRP systems and supply chain software tools.
