Dispatcher

We are seeking a Dispatcher for Wallace Building Supply (part of Southeast Building Supply Interests). This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive their materials on time, every time. You'll work closely with sales teams, customers, yard managers, and drivers to orchestrate seamless and accurate deliveries to jobsites, making sure our clients get what they need when they need it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery Management: Take charge of all material deliveries, ensuring every load leaving the yard is accurate and on schedule.
  • Team Coordination: Assign loads to pullers and manage the dispatch log, including scheduling delivery times, drivers, and specific truck assignments.
  • Customer Communication: Work directly with salespeople, customers, and end-users to coordinate deliveries that meet their timelines and expectations.
  • Truck Maintenance: Collaborate with the Yard Manager to address and coordinate truck maintenance needs, ensuring our fleet is always ready for action.
  • Receiving & Documentation: Handle receiving documentation for incoming merchandise, keeping our inventory records accurate and up to date.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Go the extra mile to meet customer expectations for timely deliveries, addressing any complaints or warranty issues with professionalism and care.
  • Daily Optimization: Work alongside the Yard Manager to maximize the number of deliveries we can complete each day, ensuring efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Product Knowledge: Attend training sessions to stay informed about the products we sell and share that knowledge with both employees and customers.
  • Additional Duties: Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and contribute to our company's success.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma required.
  • Experience: A desire to learn and grow professionally, with the ability to lead and teach others.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick to react to challenges, responding accurately and professionally.
  • Self-Motivation: A high level of self-confidence, positive attitude, and the drive to get things done.
  • Communication: Strong verbal skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain order in a fast-paced environment.
