Marathon Audio Lead
Bungie, a trailblazer in the gaming industry and creator of the iconic Halo and Destiny franchises, is seeking a talented Audio Lead for its new project, Marathon. In this role, you'll guide a team of skilled audio professionals and drive innovation across the entire soundscape. Your strategic vision, collaborative skills, and expertise will be crucial in crafting immersive audio experiences that enhance gameplay and set new industry standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the execution of Marathon's audio vision, working closely with the Audio Director to push boundaries and set new industry standards
- Empower and inspire audio professionals through dynamic leadership, implementing targeted coaching and performance management strategies to foster a culture of innovation and excellence
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Design discipline leaders to pioneer groundbreaking audio features that significantly elevate player engagement, deepen immersion, and set new benchmarks for audio excellence in the gaming industry
- Cultivate and oversee partnerships with external audio talent, ensuring high-quality deliverables that align with project standards and adapt to the dynamic needs of a live service environment
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure exceptional audio quality, accuracy, and consistency, while establishing effective collaboration processes between internal teams and external partners
- Anticipate and swiftly resolve audio challenges, implementing proactive strategies to maintain a smooth, efficient development process
- Champion the exploration and implementation of cutting-edge audio technologies, positioning Marathon as a pioneer in gaming audio innovation
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Game audio experience, demonstrating ability to guide and inspire teams
- Success in mentoring audio talent and fostering a culture of creativity and excellence
- Strong understanding of audio production, implementation, and optimization for games
- Excellent communication skills and track record of cross-functional collaboration
- Extensive experience with audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity)
- Passion for creating immersive audio experiences and driving innovation in game audio
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Prior experience as an Audio Lead or Manager
- Experience with first-person shooters or extraction shooters
- Knowledge of agile development practices in a live service environment
- Skill in managing relationships with external contributors and creative partners
- Proficiency in mixing and mastering multitrack audio

Bellevue Pay Range
$133,000 - $159,000 USD

Most Bungie full-time employees will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment).
