Marathon Senior Investment Engineer

As a Senior Gameplay Systems Engineer at Bungie, you will help design and build Marathon's player pursuit engine. You will collaborate closely with creative partners, build the features that enable our game's player progressions, achievement and customization, and craft the game's long term player pursuits. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain production-quality code using C++
  • Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to build new gameplay experiences
  • With minimal oversight, design and build new technologies, systems and gameplay.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 3+ years of professional game development experience using C++
  • Effectively communicate with fellow engineers to jointly design, write, and review code by driving team consensus and alignment
  • Effectively write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation and email communication, with the ability to summarize complex topics and achieve alignment across multiple teams

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Experience working on systemic gameplay features such as itemization, crafting, economy, rewards, abilities, progression, retention, etc.
  • Experience working on a live service game
  • Experience designing and building networked game systems
Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly). 

This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Bellevue Pay Range

$156,000 - $183,000 USD

Most Bungie full-time employees will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment). Prospective full-time employees who are located outside of a Bungie approved state will need to establish residency in an approved state within 45 days of their start date.
