More about the role:
As Digital Director, you will lead integrated, insight-driven communications programs that connect reputation and performance. You will drive cross-market digital strategies, paid media activations, and measurement frameworks that scale across regional and local accounts. This role requires a strong grasp of both storytelling and systems — integrating content, platforms, data, and technology to deliver client impact.
You will oversee strategic counsel, digital campaign design, platform management, and data intelligence — while mentoring teams to think both creatively and analytically. The ideal candidate combines fluency in digital communications with hands-on experience in performance analytics, dashboard development (Power BI, Tableau), and data automation (Python or equivalent scripting).
What you'll do:
Strategic Digital Leadership:
- Lead the planning and execution of integrated communications campaigns, anchored in digital and data-led strategy.
- Guide clients on ecosystem planning across owned, earned, shared, and paid media, ensuring alignment between creative messaging and channel performance.
- Advise on platform strategies (e.g., Meta, LinkedIn, WeChat, TikTok, X), content frameworks, and paid media approaches tailored to APAC markets.
- Champion measurement and analytics integration from the outset, including KPIs, tracking infrastructure, and data visualization.
Intelligence & Analytics Integration:
- Leverage intelligence tools (e.g., social listening, audience segmentation, issue mapping) to uncover insights that inform content and campaign planning.
- Develop and oversee dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms for performance tracking and reporting across accounts.
- Apply Python or other scripting languages (where applicable) to automate data flows, reports, or insight generation.
- Distill data into actionable insights for clients and internal teams, enhancing impact storytelling and campaign optimisation.
Paid Media & Performance:
- Design and supervise paid media strategies that align with reputation goals and audience journeys, working across digital, social, and native platforms.
- Optimize media spend based on performance data, market signals, and A/B testing insights.
- Partner with media buyers, platform reps, and creative teams to drive full-funnel performance.
Client & Business Development:
- Serve as a senior strategic partner to clients, with a strong commercial acumen and ability to identify new growth opportunities.
- Drive digital growth across key accounts, expanding scope and cross-selling digital, creative, and intelligence services.
- Lead or support pitches and proposals with integrated communications thinking and clear performance narratives.
Team & Capability Building:
- Mentor and grow a digitally fluent team that understands how to build campaigns with both creative and analytical depth.
- Build confidence in using intelligence and performance tools across the team through coaching and collaboration.
- Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and cross-functional excellence.
Experience that contributes to success:
- 12+ years in digital communications, with strong experience in integrated comms, paid media, and data strategy.
- A track record of delivering measurable campaign results across regional and local markets, ideally in APAC.
- Proficiency in analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics) and familiarity with Python or data automation tools.
- Strong working knowledge of audience and performance tools (e.g., Brandwatch, GWI, Newswhip, Meltwater).
- Ability to translate intelligence and data into narrative insights and creative strategy.
- Fluency in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is a strong advantage for Greater China–focused accounts.
- Experience in managing matrixed teams and leading cross-market initiatives.
