About the Role

As a Product Manager at ButcherBox, you'll own the development and delivery of features within our core digital experience. You're a customer-obsessed product professional who moves fast, thinks entrepreneurially, and leverages AI to accelerate your work. You'll manage features end-to-end—from research through launch, go-to-market and optimization—working closely with engineering, design, member insights, customer service, marketing, and RevOps to ship features that delight customers and drive business results.

What's Different About This Role
  • Use AI extensively for product briefs, prototyping, competitive analysis, and rapid iteration
  • Own true end-to-end project management - not just roadmaps, but hands-on delivery
  • Think holistically about launches - features ship with member communication, support readiness, and adoption strategy
  • Move with entrepreneurial velocity - building quick prototypes, testing solutions yourself
  • Ship features in days or weeks, not months

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Execution:
  • Drive product strategy for features and initiatives that align with company goals
  • Contribute to product roadmaps, prioritizing features based on customer impact and business value
  • Make fast, data-informed decisions with an entrepreneurial bias toward action
  • Build scrappy solutions when needed - create prototypes to test hypotheses quickly
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, RevOps and customer support to define requirements and ship features
  • Work closely with Customer Insights to conduct research and identify customer needs
  • Understand technical constraints and make informed trade-offs between ideal features and feasibility

Project Management:
  • Own end-to-end project management from concept through launch and post-launch optimization - feature isn't "done" when it ships, but when it is effectively communicated to customers and actively being used.
  • Coordinate cross-functional launch needs: marketing emails, customer support training, help center updates
  • Work with marketing to develop a communication strategy - how will we introduce this? What's the value prop?
  • Track and report on project progress to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • Monitor launch health and adoption - are customers finding and using the feature? Where are they getting stuck?

Data & Performance:
  • Set clear, quantitative measures for product success
  • Monitor product performance, user feedback, and market data to optimize features
  • Make data-driven decisions to enhance user satisfaction and business metrics
  • Conduct A/B tests and experiments to validate hypotheses
  • Own post-launch analysis - understand why features succeeded or failed, share learnings with the team
Communication:
  • Communicate product plans, progress, and results to leadership and stakeholders
  • Maintain transparency and alignment across the organization
  • Partner effectively with senior team members to drive initiatives forward
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience as a Digital Product Manager
  • Experience working with Shopify
  • Understanding of retention & loyalty metrics in an e-commerce environment
  • Balances customer needs with business goals. Manages escalated stakeholder concerns. Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills
  • Experience working in high-velocity startup or product teams
  • Willingness to build prototypes and test solutions hands-on
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field
  • Prior experience using AI tools in product workflows (ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS or ability to review code implementations

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
