About the Role:
We are seeking a highly connected and experienced Industry Consultant based in Tokyo to help unlock strategic opportunities with enterprise customers in the property technology sector. As a senior consultant, you will leverage your industry expertise, network, and market insights to facilitate introductions, secure high-value meetings, and accelerate business growth in Japan.
This is a contractor role designed for a well-established professional with deep industry relationships in real estate, commercial property management, workplace strategy, smart building technology, and building automation solutions.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise sales, business development, or consulting within real estate, proptech, smart buildings, workplace strategy, or related industries.
- Extensive C-level / Stakeholder network within Japanese real estate firms, corporate occupiers, developers, and facility management organizations.
- Deep understanding of enterprise buying cycles, decision-making processes, and partnership dynamics in Japan.
- Proven track record of unlocking high-value opportunities and accelerating sales cycles through strategic introductions and relationship management.
- Strong understanding of real estate technology trends, workplace analytics, occupancy management, and IoT solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with global teams, aligning local insights with broader business strategies.
- Fluent in Japanese and English (business proficiency required).
Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development & Market Expansion
- Act as a trusted advisor, leveraging your deep industry expertise and network to create entry points with highly strategic enterprise customers.
- Identify, evaluate, and engage key decision-makers within real estate firms, corporate occupiers, facility management companies, and proptech ecosystem players.
- Provide strategic guidance on workplace occupancy trends, smart building technologies, and automation strategies to help enterprises optimize their real estate footprint.
- Offer insights on how organizations can leverage data-driven workplace analytics, IoT-driven building automation, and AI-powered facility management to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop tailored go-to-market strategies, leveraging local insights to refine our approach to the Japanese commercial real estate and smart building sector.
High-Value Relationship Management
- Unlock executive-level meetings and introductions to C-level leaders, heads of real estate, workplace strategists, and facility managers at major enterprises.
- Cultivate and strengthen long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders, positioning our workplace automation and occupancy intelligence solutions as essential technology.
- Act as a bridge between our team and Japanese enterprise customers, providing valuable insights into cultural, operational, and business expectations.
Sales Enablement & Deal Acceleration
- Work closely with internal sales and business development teams to qualify opportunities and facilitate deal progression.
- Support sales efforts by providing market intelligence, competitive positioning, and advisory on workplace automation, space optimization, and energy efficiency solutions.
- Offer guidance on localization strategies, including product messaging, value propositions, and regulatory considerations related to smart building adoption in Japan.
Industry Thought Leadership & Market Intelligence
- Share insights on proptech trends, workplace occupancy innovations, building automation frameworks, and regulatory shifts that impact enterprise real estate technology adoption in Japan.
- Represent the company at industry events, roundtables, and key networking forums to build brand credibility and awareness.
- Provide internal guidance on Japanese business culture, negotiation practices, and customer expectations in the smart building and workplace optimization space.
