Senior CRM Designer
📍 London, United Kingdom
📣 A bit about the role
We’re looking for a Senior CRM Designer to join our talented in-house Creative Studio at Butternut Box.
This is a specialist senior design role, focused on shaping how Butternut shows up across email for millions of dog parents across our markets. You’ll sit alongside designers and copywriters in the creative studio, working closely with marketing and product teams to deliver beautifully crafted, effective and scalable customer communications that drive engagement and conversion.
Butternut has just gone through a very exciting brand refresh, and this role will play a key part in bringing that new look and feel to life across email for all three customer groups: leads, existing customers and paused customers. You’ll balance standout creative with clarity, consistency and performance to ensure every email both looks great and delivers results.
As we continue to scale into new markets, CRM is one of our most important global channels. You’ll build the systems, templates and best practices that allow us to move faster, stay on brand, and continually improve performance as we deliver high-quality communications at scale.
If you’re passionate about email design, obsessed with craft, and motivated by seeing your work drive real results across multiple markets, we’d love to hear from you.
🎯 As our Senior CRM Designer, you’ll help define and elevate how Butternut shows up across CRM, working in close partnership with our CRM team to deliver world-class, scalable email design that strengthens brand love and drives results.

- Create visually compelling emails that balance brand storytelling with clarity, usability and performance.
- Work closely with CRM managers and copywriters from brief to delivery, helping shape clear creative responses that align with campaign goals and commercial objectives.
- Challenge the status quo by interrogating briefs, asking the right questions and pushing for clearer objectives to ensure creative work has the biggest possible impact.

- Embed and champion Butternut’s refreshed brand across all CRM touch points.
- Act as a brand guardian for email, ensuring consistency of look, feel and tone.
- Build and evolve global templates, modules and design systems that support speed, quality and global scale.
Collaboration & performance
- Partner closely with the CRM team to take co-responsibility for email performance, acting as a commercial stakeholder for key metrics like CTR and conversion.
- Proactively suggest and design A/B tests and creative hypotheses to help unlock growth and improve performance across the customer funnel.
- Use performance insights and data to inform future creative decisions, constantly iterating designs to ensure we are always improving.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, product and regional teams to deliver CRM creative across multiple markets.
- Take an active interest in CRM roadmaps and goals, ensuring creative work supports wider commercial priorities.
Craft & leadership
- Deliver work independently while contributing to a high-performing Creative Studio culture.
- Share knowledge, raise the bar for CRM design craft and support junior designers.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines with a strong eye for detail.
