📣A bit about the role

This is a full-time permanent opportunity to join Butternut at an exciting time as we continue delivering health and happiness to dogs and their humans. This role supports the day-to-day running of our production operation.

You’ll be part of a strong existing team, where hard work, teamwork and a positive attitude matter. The role works on a rolling average of 41.125 hours per week across a shift rotation including days, nights and some weekend working, with shifts of 6:45 am – 7 pm and 6:45 pm – 7 am.

 

A bit more detail

• Work safely at all times, following the appropriate safety procedures and wearing protective equipment correctly.
• Carry out quality checks to make sure products meet the required specifications.
• Support core operational tasks including unpacking, packing, loading and unloading boxes, finished goods and raw materials, as well as monitoring production lines.
• Provide ‘machine watching’ cover for the Machine Operator when needed.
• Complete general operational duties such as waste processing, order packing and other supporting tasks across the site.
• Maintain high hygiene standards across the facility, including floors, walls and conveyors, while working in a clean-as-you-go manner and contributing to relevant standards, KPIs and performance review meetings where required.

• You have previous relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• You can learn new tasks quickly, follow instructions carefully and take a practical approach to getting the job done.
• You care about food quality and safety and take pride in following the right processes.
• You are comfortable working with raw materials including beef, pork, chicken, turkey and lamb, and happy working in a chilled environment.
• You can adapt to changing operational needs, communicate clearly in spoken English and work effectively with the wider team.
• You are keen to support Butternut’s mission and ready to be part of a diverse and inclusive team that works well together and lives by Butternut’s values.
