Telesales Agent

United Kingdom

Fresh Food, Happy Dogs

We believe dogs deserve the healthiest, most natural and tastiest meals — with none of the nasties. That's why we make FRESHly prepared food, cooked just like you would at home and delivered direct to our customers in perfect portions. As a B-Corp certified company, you're joining a sustainable business that genuinely cares about our people, our products and our impact on the planet. Our goal is simple: to help dogs live healthier, happier and longer lives, while leaving humans smiling after every interaction.

We've come a long way since our co-founders (Kev & Dave) hand-delivered the very first Butternut Box. Today, we feed hundreds of thousands of hungry dogs across the UK and Europe — but we won't stop until we're feeding dogs everywhere. To get there, we need a team of brilliant people who share that ambition to come and work for us.

☎️ The job

Looking for brilliant earnings, a great work-life balance and a product you'll genuinely love selling? As a Telesales Agent, you'll earn a £100 day rate plus uncapped commission while helping pet pawrents make the switch to fresh food that helps their dogs thrive. Our current top earner is taking home £200 per shift — and there's no ceiling on what you can make.

This is a fully remote, UK-based role, working 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday, 10 AM to 6 PM. You'll be a founding member of our growing telesales channel — calling warm leads (owners who have already told us they're interested in Butternut Box), building trust through great conversations, and turning that interest into happy new customers. No cold calling, no scripts to read robotically — just real conversations about something every dog lover cares about.

This is consistent selling with a strong product and a supportive, ambitious team behind you. The best part? You build a high-earning career from the comfort of home, while keeping time for the rest of your life.

💷 The pay

Your earnings come from three parts: a guaranteed day rate of £100tiered commission on the customers you sign up, and retention pay that rewards you for signing up customers who stay with us. The harder you push, the more every sale is worth — there's no cap with our uncapped commission resulting in our current top earner taking home £200+ per shift.

🦴 What your role entails

  • Call warm leads and help pet owners make the switch to fresh food.
  • Build rapport quickly, ask the right questions, and recommend the right plan for each dog.
  • Confidently handle questions and objections, and guide interested owners to their first box.
  • Keep your pipeline, notes and call outcomes accurate and up to date in our CRM.
  • Hit (and beat!) your conversion and sales targets.
  • Listen back to calls with your team lead, take on feedback, and apply it straight away.
  • Help our telesales channel grow and perform better and better — your ideas count.

☀️ A day in the life of a Butternut Box Telesales Agent

You log in from home, put on your headset, and your leads are ready: owners who have personally expressed interest in Butternut Box. After a quick check-in with your team lead, you get to work.

Your first conversation is with the owner of a dog that reacts poorly to dry food. You ask the right questions, build trust and give tailored advice. You hit it off, and they start with their first box. You can already tell this customer is a perfect fit — and that it won't stop at one box.

Halfway through your shift, you listen back to a call with your team lead. You get targeted feedback and apply it immediately, and your conversations run even more smoothly afterwards.

At the end of your shift, you can see exactly what you've achieved: four new clients and four dogs that will truly benefit from Butternut Box. At the end of the month, you'll see it on your payslip too — including commission for every new customer. Kaching. 🐾

👀 What we're looking for

  • You communicate clearly and confidently, and build rapport with people easily.
  • Targets motivate you, and you enjoy working in a results-oriented way.
  • You're coachable — you welcome feedback and act on it immediately.
  • You're comfortable on the phone and quick to pick up new tools and systems.
  • You're enthusiastic and driven to help build a brand-new sales channel from the ground up.
  • You're crazy about dogs and love talking about them with their owners. 🐶
  • You're UK-based and have a quiet, reliable home working setup (we'll provide the kit you need).
  • You're available to work 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday, 10 AM to 6 PM.
  • You must be 18 years old or older and have the right to work in the UK.
  • Sales experience is a plus — but the right attitude, energy and coachability matter most.

🙌 Our benefits

  • 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday (10 AM to 6 PM), giving you a genuine work-life balance while building a high-earning career.
  • Fully remote across the UK — work from home, with access to one of our UK hubs if you live close by.
  • Intensive sales coaching from experienced team leads.
  • Easy selling: warm leads and a product people love.
  • Plenty of opportunities to develop yourself and progress your career.
  • 25 days holiday (plus 8 bank holidays) and an additional day for every year of service up to 5 years.
  • 5 additional, paid 'paws' days off per year dedicated to your learning, development or personal wellbeing.
  • £250 personal learning & development budget to sharpen your skills.
  • A significant discount on our Fresh food, to keep your own dogs as healthy as our customers'.
  • Enhanced parental leave, plus paid time off for fertility treatments and pregnancy loss.
  • Paid sabbaticals for squad members with 5 or more years' service at Butternut.
  • Pension with NEST, Private Medical Insurance with Vitality and Private Dental Insurance with Bupa.
  • Cycle to work scheme and discounted gym access through MyGymDiscounts.
  • A friendly, close-knit team with a fun outing every few weeks.
  • Lots of office dogs at our hubs (Ajax, Peggy, Chief, Louis, Hansen, Winnie and many more…).
  • Working at a certified B Corp with a positive impact.

⏳ The interview process

  • Initial call with your dedicated Talent Acquisition Partner, carried out remotely.
  • Sometimes the process will include a short sales pitch or role-play so we can hear you in action.
  • Final interview, where you'll also meet some of your potential future colleagues.

We usually expect our interview process to take 1–3 weeks, end to end. This vacancy has no fixed start date — if there's a match, you can start quickly.

💡 Important things to note

We recommend getting your application in as soon as possible. We reserve the right to close the role early.

We're a small (but mighty!) recruitment team. We aim to respond to everyone personally, but if we're flooded with brilliant applications, we may need to close the role early. We appreciate your patience while we review applications.

For this specific role, we're unable to offer visa sponsorship, so you'll need the right to work in the UK.

❗️ We believe in a seat at the table for everyone

Butternut Box is an equal opportunity employer. We believe that to make the best food for all dogs, we need a team that represents all humans. We celebrate different nationalities, backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We are specifically committed to increasing representation from underrepresented groups. We want a strong, diverse team built from different identities and lived experiences. We're not perfect, but we are dedicated to the ongoing work of building an inclusive, supportive place where you can do the best work of your career.
