The Buyer’s Edge Platform Fresh Division is an entity comprised of Fresh Concepts, Produce Alliance, Fresh Alliance & Fresh Services with over 35 years of produce management solutions. The Fresh Division provides fresh produce category management services, procurement and contracting, national distribution, freight management, k-12 solutions, technology services, and food safety assurance to food service clients across North America, the Caribbean and beyond. The Fresh Division has a national footprint of over 125+ industry leading distributors in North America, and partnerships with the most premier grower shippers.
This position can be based out of one of our offices in either downtown Chicago or Bannockburn, IL on a hybrid schedule. We are unable to provide sponsorship for work authorization for this role.
At Buyer’s Edge Platform - Fresh Division, we are building a data-first culture that empowers better decisions across the business, with BI leading the charge! As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, you will be more than just a report builder. The BI Analyst will be responsible for transforming data into insights that drive business value. From scripting lightweight ETL workflows to building elegant Tableau dashboards, the role will support both data engineering and visual analytics. The ideal candidate has experience using Python to interact with REST API’s and store data in AWS S3 buckets. Working cross functionally with internal teams, the BI Analyst will design and build Tableau dashboards that provide actionable information to support decision-making across the organization. The BI Analyst will leverage data from AWS, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift, and Salesforce Data Cloud (customer engagement analyst to provide detailed analyses, helping to drive top-line & bottom-line growth. The BI Analyst will report to the Business Intelligence Manager and work across internal departments to gather all relevant information and present findings. You’ll join a collaborative, fast-paced team that loves being at the forefront of new tech, sharing ideas, and driving real business impact.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools like Figma, Tableau, and Excel.

Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using Tableau Prep & Python to transform data from SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and AWS S3.

Conduct in-depth analysis of data to identify trends, patterns, and insights regarding profitability, case volume, quality claims, market price fluctuations, and geographical supply chain optimization.

Prepare and present findings and dashboards to stakeholders.

Business Insights and Recommendations:

Work closely with departments such as Finance, Marketing, Account Management, Sales, and Operations to understand data needs and provide tailored analytical solutions.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.

Data Quality:

Ensure data integrity and accuracy through data validation.
-
Collaborate with IT and other teams to improve data quality and resolve data issues.

Develop and maintain documentation for data processes and BI solutions.

Project Management:

Balance multiple BI projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery.

Communicate project status, issues, and risks to BI Manager.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

Technical Expertise and Innovation:

Stay up to date with the latest BI tech stacks and industry trends.

About you:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related STEM field preferred.

2-3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field.

Proficient in SQL/ MySQL, Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, and other data analysis and visualization tools.

Experience using Python to automate ETL workflows.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data insights clearly.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as collaborate effectively on a team.

Familiarity with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Fivetran, or Airflow is a plus.

Experience with data modeling best practices (star schema, snowflake, slowly changing dimensions, etc.)
