Produce Support Specialist

A Produce Support Specialist meticulously analyzes their distributors' annual commitments, scrutinizing current case counts, performance metrics, and overall standings. Additionally, the specialist provides daily support, offering strategic guidance and management to enhance operational efficiency. They also facilitate communication between stakeholders, helping to resolve issues promptly and ensuring that all parties are informed of changes in demand, inventory levels, and market trends, thus fostering a collaborative environment that drives success.

Who we are:

The Buyer’s Edge Platform Fresh Division is an entity comprised of Fresh Concepts, Produce Alliance, Fresh Alliance & Fresh Services with over 35 years of produce management solutions. The Fresh Division provides fresh produce category management services, procurement and contracting,, national distribution, freight management, k-12 solutions, technology services, and food safety assurance to food service clients across North America, the Caribbean and beyond. The Fresh Division has a national footprint of over 125+ industry leading distributors in North America, and partnerships with the most premier grower shippers. 

This is a remote position based in the Southeast US, ideally Florida, with anticipated travel up to 50%. We are unable to offer work sponsorship for this role.

Your impact:

  • Manage produce quality, service requirements, and distributor obligations for roughly 30 regionally assigned distributor partners and our client locations within those markets.
  • This person will cultivate relationships with our distributor partners and work within our company’s guiding principles while conducting client location visits and distributor business reviews.
  • Client location visits include scoring product quality, storage and handling training, consulting on application and pack size recommendations, and receiving feedback related to distributor service levels from client locations. Client service evaluation reports share this scoring, feedback, and suggestions.
  • Work closely with our distributor partners’ executive leadership, the distributor business review occurs quarterly. It focuses on challenges and opportunities while reviewing current market trends and managing relationships with existing clients.

About you:

  • Must maintain a home office in a geographically assigned area while not traveling.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license with ability to rent a car
  • A valid US Passport is required
  • Ability to articulate feedback and evaluation criteria in a prompt manner
  • Must be curious to learn and apply critical thinking to projects
  • Must be willing to travel on a quarterly location
  • Three years of face-to-face customer service experience
  • Food service industry experience, including a working knowledge of food safety and supply chain
  • A bachelor’s degree in hospitality, supply chain, or similar is highly preferred
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% on a quarterly rotation. Distributors and client locations will be managed regionally in multiple states and select instances outside the continuous 48 states.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required. Valid passport preferred.
  • Must be willing to lift up to 30 pounds at select times.
