Senior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Senior Accountant to join our team and support the accounting operations of our growing SaaS division. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month-end close, financial reporting, accounts receivable, revenue processes, and supporting audits and acquisitions.

This position is based out of our Chicago, IL office. (We are unable to offer work sponsorship for this role.

Your impact:

  • Prepare and record journal entries, and support the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Draft and analyze financial statements and trial balances; research and resolve discrepancies
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting documentation
  • Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Manage accounts receivable functions
  • Have working knowledge of ASC 606 and be able to effectively apply knowledge when reviewing and inputting new contracts and renewals
  • Support financial and sales tax audits through preparation of schedules and responses
  • Assist with the integration of newly acquired entities into accounting processes and systems
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting using NetSuite, Maxio, Excel, and other tools
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and stakeholders on special projects

About you:

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of GAAP, be highly analytical, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role requires the ability to produce timely, accurate journal entries and reconciliations, while also collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Proven ability to manage journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end reporting
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
  • Proactive, dependable, and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred but not required)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • SaaS industry experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with NetSuite and Maxio a plus
