
Director of Business Development
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Direct-to-Business Sales Representative to drive growth in the healthcare Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) channel. This role will focus on selling our healthcare solutions directly to healthcare providers and facilities, while nurturing strong relationships with our key distributor partners. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the healthcare or GPO ecosystem, a track record of successful B2B sales, and the ability to build and manage relationships with both customers and strategic channel partners.

As a Buyers Edge Platform brand, we're streamlining healthcare operations and providing a simplified, efficient, and transparent purchasing experience. Leveraging a vast network of manufacturing partners and distributors nationwide, we contribute to an overall reduction in healthcare operation costs.
This position is remotely based with expected travel up to 75%. We are unable to offer work sponsorship for this role.
Your impact:
- New Business Development: Identify, target, and close new business opportunities within healthcare providers (hospitals, clinics, long-term care, etc.) aligned with GPO contracts and programs.
- Channel Partner Collaboration: Work closely with distributor partner sales teams to drive mutual success through joint sales planning, lead sharing, and account strategy alignment.
- GPO Program Execution: Leverage existing GPO relationships and programs to penetrate new accounts and expand product utilization within current customers.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute territory and account plans that align with corporate growth objectives.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product positioning.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activity and pipeline progress in CRM systems and provide regular updates to leadership.
About you:
- Experience: 5+ years of B2B healthcare sales experience, ideally in the GPO, distribution, or medical product/device sector.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the GPO model (e.g., Vizient, Premier, HealthTrust, etc.) and the healthcare procurement landscape.
- Relationships: Existing relationships with healthcare providers and distributor sales reps (e.g., Medline, Cardinal Health, McKesson, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Self-starter with high accountability and results orientation
- Tools: Proficient with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual meeting tools.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field; MBA is a plus.
