Director of Business Development

We are seeking a results-driven Director of Business Development Representative to accelerate pharmacy growth within our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) portfolio. This role will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new pharmacy members while driving adoption of supplier programs that increase savings and value for independent and regional pharmacies.

Leveraging a vast network of manufacturing partners and distributors nationwide, we contribute to an overall reduction in healthcare operation costs.  

This position is remotely based with expected travel up to 50%. We are unable to offer work sponsorship for this role.

Your impact:

  • Identify, develop, and close new pharmacy members for our GPO.
  • Drive revenue and membership growth through strategic outreach, relationship building, and consultative selling.
  • Collaborate with marketing and supplier relations teams to develop targeted campaigns for pharmacy prospects.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through CRM management and consistent follow-up.
  • Conduct presentations, webinars, and in-person meetings with pharmacy owners/operators.
  • Build deep knowledge of our pharmacy-focused supplier portfolio to position value effectively.
  • Negotiate membership agreements and support onboarding of new pharmacy members.
  • Track performance metrics, report progress against sales goals, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Represent the company at pharmacy trade shows, conferences, and networking events.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of sales/business development experience, preferably in healthcare, pharmacy services, or distribution.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel regionally/nationally- as needed (50%)
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Previous experience selling into pharmacies, healthcare systems, or related healthcare organizations preferred
  • Understanding of GPO models, pharmacy purchasing, or healthcare supply chain and negotiation preferred
  • Established network of pharmacy use decision-makers preferred
