About the Role

As the Head of Threat Management, you will lead Bridgewater’s threat detection and response functions, managing a team of engineers across different levels while coordinating with other security teams. This senior leadership role involves guiding a high-performing team in maintaining and augmenting threat management operations while maintaining integration with broader initiatives across Security and Technology.   

 You will drive the following responsibilities: 

Leadership & Strategy 

  • Senior manager that can lead and mentor a team of Engineers. Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement for the team’s fully remote workforce.  
  • Develop and execute the Threat Management strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Bridgewater’s evolving business, technology, and security objectives  
  • Partner with senior leadership to advocate for and articulate the value of security initiatives across the organization. 

Team and Program Management 

  • Drive threat management’s priorities and allocate resources towards the highest ROI work for Bridgewater 
  • Oversee threat management program and operations 
  • Maintain a 24/7 incident response capability 
  • Ensure effective operations across program areas including incident response, detection, and vulnerability management. 
  • Manage team budget and resource planning 

Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CISO and other senior executives on cyber security threats 
  • Partner with Security Architecture and Engineering on identification, prioritization, and implementation of security controls 
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering on building and maintaining security analytics and signals 
  • Coordinate and partner with external security partners and stakeholders 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 10+ years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on security operations. 
  • Experience in highly regulated and fast-paced industries, such as financial services, is strongly preferred. 
  • Deep expertise in network security, identity and access management, encryption, and vulnerability management. 
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker). 
  • Experience with modern DevOps and infrastructure-as-code practices, including automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Strategic thinker capable of independently understanding an evolving threat landscape to develop forward-looking security strategies. 
  • Ability to lead a team through a transformation and navigate periods of ambiguity. 

Physical Requirements

This role is offered as fully remote within the United States. Occasional travel may be required throughout the year (should not exceed 1x per quarter).

Compensation

The wage range for this role is $600,000 - $1,000,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 60-70% of this wage range.
