Role Overview:
The Senior Insurance Coordinator will play a key role in shaping and enhancing BYD's risk management processes. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance and working closely with the accounting, the engineering, the HR, and the finance teams, you will ensure robust relationships with external insurance brokers while identifying opportunities for operational improvements. This is a unique opportunity to be the first hire for this position and contribute to the foundation of a future risk management department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee property, liability, and workers’ compensation insurance programs.
- Collaborate with the teams of finance and accounting and engineering and HR, and with external brokers to optimize coverage and enhance efficiency.
- Monitor and manage claims processes, ensuring timely resolution.
- Manage Certificate requests
- Review vendor and client contracts as relates to insurance requirements
- Conduct client credit/financial statements analysis for energy business transactions
- Support the evaluation and implementation of group health insurance plans, if applicable.
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis to the Head of Finance on risk management metrics.
- Contribute to the design and development of a future risk management team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance services within a large brokerage or as part of a risk management team for a manufacturer.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in business, finance, accounting, economics, or in insurance
- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and experience in preparing business write-ups on corporate credit research and analysis
- Strong knowledge of property, liability, and workers’ compensation insurance.
- Familiarity with group health plans is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and external partners.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a growing team.

Hiring Range
$85,000 - $115,000 per year
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
