SUMMARY

BYD America’s Renewable Energy Business Unit, which is amongst the largest sellers of solar panels (PV) and battery-energy storage systems (BESS) in North America, is looking for a Logistics Specialist to support our PV and BESS equipment sales and distribution business. As Logistics Specialist, you will manage and ensure that our PV and BESS equipment are made, sold, and delivered on time and on budget, and that client aftersales issues are resolved by the manufacturer in an expeditious and satisfactory manner.

This role is ideal for a driven individual, with deep experience in the PV or ESS business, looking to join a dynamic and global equipment manufacturing and sales team. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills, the ability to operate independently and make sound judgements with moderate supervision and have a deep understanding of the PV and ESS equipment sales business.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Management of all inbound operations and logistics for U.S. locals.
  • Responsible for ISF filing, customs clearance, shipment status tracking, issuing delivery orders, and disputing invoices.
  • Responsible for local transportation, planning, shipping and receiving.
  • Following up RFPs and optimize/manage logistics budget for the region
  • Negotiate and manage vendors and carriers – to procure the most economical services and to execute delivery plan on time and on budgets.
  • Maintain vendor contracts and relationships, manage transactional items
  • Strategically implement vendor performance evaluation on a regular basis
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Other duties & reports as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1+ years of relevant work experience
  • Work experience as a Logistics Specialist or equivalent in the energy industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
  • Ability to report to work site in Los Angeles County, CA and ability to travel for work
  • Speaks English and Chinese fluently and idiomatically preferred

Hiring Range

$68,000 - $75,000 per year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
