The Senior Program Manager is a highly visible, enterprise-level role responsible for leading and supporting complex strategic initiatives, cross-functional programs, and special projects across By the Bay Health.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, operational leaders, and key internal stakeholders to translate organizational priorities into well-defined plans, drive execution, strengthen accountability, and ensure critical initiatives move forward effectively.

The ideal candidate is a sophisticated project and program leader who combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution. This individual will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, working across functions, building relationships at every level of the organization, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Strategic Program and Project Leadership

  • Lead and manage complex, enterprise-wide programs and strategic initiatives involving multiple departments, stakeholders, and workstreams
  • Translate high-level organizational and executive priorities into actionable project plans, milestones, deliverables, timelines, and measures of success
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that clearly define scope, responsibilities, required resources, timelines, costs, dependencies, and expected outcomes

Executive and Board Support

  • Support executive and Board operations by developing and maintaining efficient workflows and coordinating with executive support staff to facilitate seamless communication between leadership and Board members.
  • Anticipate executive and Board information needs and ensure timely, accurate, and appropriately organized materials are available to support informed decision-making.
  • Support the planning, preparation, coordination, and execution of Board meetings and Board committee meetings

Organizational Effectiveness and Process Improvement

  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvement in organizational communication, reporting, workflows, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Design and implement streamlined processes and systems that improve organizational effectiveness and employee experience
  • Facilitate cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination across clinical, administrative, financial, operational, and shared-service departments

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Build strong, trusted relationships across departments and serve as a connector between the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board members, and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings, workgroups, and planning sessions designed to move initiatives from discussion to execution.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, translating complex information into understandable and actionable updates.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field required. Equivalent education and relevant professional experience may be considered
  • Master’s degree, MBA, MHA, or similar advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience leading complex programs, enterprise initiatives, or strategic projects
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with executive leadership teams, Boards of Directors, or senior-level organizational stakeholders preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit healthcare, home-based care, hospice, palliative care, home health, or related healthcare environments is highly desirable

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Project management certification such as PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent credential preferred but not required.

Pay Range:
$140K - $175K annually
