Job Title: Help Desk Technician - Tier II
Security Clearance: Secret
Location: Campia Turzii, Romania
(Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.)
Description:
C3EL is seeking a skilled and motivated Tier II Help Desk Technician to join our team on-site in Romania. This role involves providing advanced network troubleshooting and infrastructure support across enterprise-grade Cisco environments, ensuring the reliability and security of critical communications systems.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Performing Tier II troubleshooting of IP network issues.
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of network security measures and access control systems, including TACACS+ and ACLs.
- Assisting with the configuration and monitoring of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including Rapid Spanning Tree, HSRP, EIGRP, and BGP.
- Deploying, troubleshooting, and optimizing VPN technologies such as GRE, IPSEC, and DMVPN to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
- Providing technical support for Cisco routers and switches (ASR 1000, 3900, 3800, 2800; 6500, 4500, and 3750 series), including IOS upgrades, configuration backups, and interface diagnostics.
- Creating documentation to ensure current best IT standards, principles, and security practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have U.S. Citizenship.
- Must have an active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
- Must have one of the following active certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP
- Shall be proficient in IP communications and packet analysis.
- Shall have detailed knowledge of Central Authentication, Authorization and Accounting via Terminal Access Controller Access Control System (TACACS+).
- Shall have detailed knowledge of layer 3 technologies, such as HSRP, EIGRP, and BGP.
- Shall have detailed knowledge of layer 2 technologies, such as Rapid Spanning-Tree.
- Shall have detailed knowledge of end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) and multicast design and implementation.
- Shall have detailed knowledge of Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE), Internet Protocol Security (IPSEC), and Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN) deployments and configurations.
- Shall have detailed knowledge of access control lists and security practices.
- Shall have knowledge and familiarity with Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS)-based routers within the ASR 1000, 3900, 3800, and 2800 families; Cisco IOS based switches within the 6500, 4500, and 3750 families.
Desired Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of networks and the ability to troubleshoot network problems.
- Ability to write technical documents.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Education:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline plus six (6) years of recent, specialized experience, an Associate's degree in a related discipline plus seven (7) years of recent, specialized experience, OR eleven (11) years of recent, specialized experience. (Experience must include at least two (2) years of experience in a military environment.)
