Position Summary: The Senior SAP Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting custom SAP solutions on client development teams. They will collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to ensure a successful deployment in alignment with business requirements, as well as provide mentorship and guidance for associate-level and mid-level developers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates closely with stakeholders and technical teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical strategies.
- Designs and writes technical specifications based on business and project requirements.
- Collaborates with business analysts, solution architects, and other developers to ensure successful development and implementation aligned with business requirements.
- Develops custom SAP solutions across a wide spectrum of object types (RICEF) and technologies (ABAP, OO ABAP, BOPF, RF Framework, Fiori, PI/PO, HANA, CDS, AMDP, SAPUI5, ODATA) with a special emphasis on Transportation Management and related technologies (BOPF, Floorplan Manager, Web Dynpro, NWBC, PPF, Adobe Forms).
- Develops and implements business solutions, technical methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
- Writes clean, efficient, and reusable ABAP code, and enhances and optimizes existing ABAP code for improved efficiency.
- Leads reviews of code, TDDs, and FDDs, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices and the quality of deliverables.
- Performs testing and troubleshooting of SAP application issues, ensuring resolution and alignment with documented business processes and requirements.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges during the project, focusing on seamless integration and ensuring optimal user experience and system functionality post-implementation.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to the customer and provides expert guidance and mentorship to associate and mid-level technical team members, providing workshops on technical skills and stretch assignments, ensuring effective teamwork and knowledge transfer.
- Stays up to date on the latest SAP technologies and best practices.
- Travels to client sites as needed to implement and support SAP solutions – travel up to 20%.
- Is actively involved in end-to-end testing and go-live activities, such as transport sequencing, go-live support, and hyper care
- Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security.
- Performs assigned tasks without technical guidance.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in MIS, CS, IS, IT or other technical field preferred.
- 7+ or more years of experience in SAP development roles.
- 4+ or more years of experience in TM-related technologies (BOPF, Floorplan Manager, Web Dynpro, NWBC, BRF+, PPF, Adobe Forms, Proxy interfaces).
- SAP Certification – ABAP or FIORI - if not certified, must obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
- SAP EWM or TM Certification a big plus.
- Experience working with the Department of Defense or another federal agency is a plus.
- Must have an active government clearance or be able to obtain one prior to hire date.
- U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain government clearance.
Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Advanced understanding of multiple SAP development tools and techniques (e.g., ABAP, OO ABAP, BOPF, Fiori, PI/PO, HANA, CDS Views, ChaRM, etc.) with the ability to independently design, develop, test, debug, and implement.
- Strong technical expertise and experience with software development processes and procedures, including Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Must be a self-starter and problem solver, capable of functioning in a dynamic, fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to connect and work with employees at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Compensation:
In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $120,000 – $160,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
