Position Summary:
The SAP MDG Funds Management (FM) Functional Consultant is responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) solutions for Funds Management master data within a federal SAP S/4HANA environment. This role collaborates with government stakeholders, functional teams, and technical resources to establish governance processes for public sector financial master data, improve data quality, and ensure consistent master data across integrated SAP landscapes. The consultant applies subject matter expertise to configure SAP MDG Funds Management functionality, implement governance best practices, and support enterprise master data initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, data integrity, financial accountability, and mission success.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering sessions and business process workshops to define Funds Management (FM) master data governance requirements.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders and business partners to capture business rules, document functional requirements, and design Funds Management master data models.
- Configure the SAP MDG framework for Funds Management, including data modeling, UI FPM modeling, and process modeling.
- Configure change request workflows, validation rules, and derivation rules using SAP Business Rule Framework Plus (BRF+).
- Support governance processes for Funds Management master data, including Funds, Funds Centers, Commitment Items, Funded Programs, and related Public Sector Management (PSM) master data objects.
- Configure the Data Replication Framework (DRF) and support master data synchronization using SOA Services, Web Services, IDocs, and ALE.
- Collaborate with Finance, Controlling, Public Sector Management, Grants Management, and technical teams to ensure accurate and consistent financial master data across integrated SAP environments.
- Design and maintain governance policies, validation rules, duplicate checks, and approval workflows to improve master data quality and compliance.
- Support integration of Funds Management master data with SAP Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), General Ledger (G/L), Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and related SAP modules.
- Develop functional design documentation, configuration documentation, and business process documentation.
- Support data migration, data conversion, and master data cleansing activities during SAP implementations.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Troubleshoot SAP MDG Funds Management production issues and support ongoing system enhancements.
- Participate in process mapping and change management activities to support the successful adoption of SAP MDG solutions.
- Travel on rare occasions to client sites to provide on-site support.
- Adhere to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, including actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years of relevant SAP Master Data Governance, SAP Funds Management (FM), or SAP Public Sector Management (PSM) experience (5–7 years without a Bachelor’s degree).
- Demonstrated experience configuring SAP MDG for Funds Management, including data modeling, workflow configuration, UI FPM modeling, Business Rule Framework Plus (BRF+), and the Data Replication Framework (DRF).
- Strong understanding of SAP Funds Management (FM) and Public Sector Management (PSM) master data within SAP S/4HANA, including Funds, Funds Centers, Commitment Items, Funded Programs, and related financial master data.
- Experience integrating Funds Management with SAP Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), General Ledger (G/L), Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and Grants Management (GM).
- Experience gathering business requirements, facilitating workshops, developing functional design documentation, and supporting solution delivery.
- Experience supporting multi-system SAP landscapes and enterprise master data governance initiatives.
- Ability to exercise judgment within defined practices and handle moderately complex SAP MDG Funds Management issues with minimal oversight.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
Nice to Have:
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations, federal ERP modernization programs, or Department of Defense (DoD) SAP environments.
- Experience with SAP Public Sector Management (PSM), Grants Management (GM), Central Finance, or federal financial management processes.
- Familiarity with SOA Services, Web Services, IDocs, ALE, and enterprise integration technologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise master data migration, governance, and data quality initiatives.
- Relevant SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA Finance, SAP Public Sector Management (PSM), or SAP Funds Management (FM) certifications.
Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $110,000 – $135,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
