Position Summary:

The SAP Pricing and Promotions Lead serves as a hands-on subject matter expert (SME) and functional team lead for SAP S/4HANA Retail Pricing and Promotions engagements. This role provides functional configuration expertise across the SAP Customer Activity Repository (CAR) pricing and promotions modules, translates client business requirements into detailed application design, and leads a team of functional and technical consultants through blueprint, configuration, testing, and go-live activities. The position balances direct, hands-on delivery work with day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and development of junior team members, and requires strong client-facing communication to manage stakeholder expectations and project outcomes. 

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the SAP Pricing and Promotions subject matter expert, providing hands-on configuration and functional leadership for S/4HANA Retail pricing and promotions solutions, including Promotion Management for Retail (PMR), Omnichannel Promotion Pricing (OPP), and Condition Contract Pricing. 
  • Conducts translation of business area customer information into detailed enterprise application design, ensuring solutions align with client business processes, industry practices, and SAP best practices. 
  • Interacts with consultants and client team members to perform analysis of alternatives and provide recommendations on pricing and promotions design and configuration approaches. 
  • Conducts the preparation of programming specifications, process diagrams, and coding/logic flowcharts for enterprise application modifications, enhancements, and new installations. 
  • Leads business-process design, blueprint, and Fit-to-Standard workshops for pricing and promotions functionality; authors business requirements and functional specifications (FS). 
  • Configures and customizes SAP pricing and promotions functionality, including retail price calculation and margin logic, regular and promotional price planning, condition technique, and POS outbound pricing through Cond_A. 
  • Supports System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, defect triage and resolution, and knowledge transfer to client and delivery teams. 
  • Manages budgeting, staffing, forecasting, and work planning activities for assigned pricing and promotions workstreams. 
  • Leads, mentors, and trains a team of functional and technical consultants, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and performance feedback to support successful project delivery and staff development. 
  • Serves as a client-facing point of contact, communicating project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to client leadership and internal stakeholders. 
  • Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies. 
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

  • Policy, Compliance & Risk Management: Applies company policies and employment practices consistently; partners with HR on employee relations matters; and identifies and mitigates people, delivery, and compliance risks. 
  • Communication & Stakeholder Alignment: Communicates expectations, decisions, and changes clearly; aligns team or organizational objectives with business priorities; and collaborates effectively across matrixed, crossfunctional, or client environments. 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered. 

  • 8+ years of relevant SAP functional/technical consulting experience, including experience operating in a lead or subject matter expert (SME) capacity. 

  • Hands-on experience with S/4HANA Retail pricing and promotions; experience with Promotion Management for Retail (PMR), Omnichannel Promotion Pricing (OPP), and/or Condition Contract Pricing is highly preferred. 

  • Demonstrated experience with retail price calculation and margin logic, regular and promotional price planning, and condition technique. 

  • Proven experience translating business requirements into enterprise application design, including preparation of programming specifications, process diagrams, and coding/logic flowcharts. 

  • Experience leading business-process design, blueprint, and Fit-to-Standard sessions; strong requirements and functional specification (FS) authoring skills. 

  • Experience supporting SIT/UAT test cycles. 

  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, staffing, forecasting, and work planning. 

  • Prior experience leading, mentoring, and training a team of functional and technical consultants. 

  • Strong client-facing communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead consulting teams to successful project delivery. 

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active government clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).   

 

Nice to Have:

  • SAP certification in Retail, Pricing/Promotions, or S/4HANA functional configuration. 
  • Experience with additional SAP Customer Activity Repository (CAR) modules, such as Omnichannel Article Availability (OAA) or Point-of-Sale/Transaction Data Management (POS DM/TDM). 
  • Experience with adjacent pricing and promotion tools, such as SAP CRM Trade Promotion Management or SAP BRIM. 
  • Master's degree in a related field. 
  • PMP or comparable project/program leadership certification. 
  • Prior experience in government contracting or public sector consulting engagements. 
  • Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or SAP Activate delivery methodologies. 
  • Experience with reporting/analytics tools (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI) to support pricing and margin analysis. 
  • Experience integrating pricing and promotions functionality with adjacent SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, or Retail Merchandising). 

 

 

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $135,000 – $165,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
