Position Summary:
The SAP Retail Pricing and Promotions Consultant designs and implements pricing strategies and promotional campaigns for retail clients using SAP S/4HANA Retail and SAP Merchandising. This role analyzes market and business requirements, configures and optimizes pricing and promotions functionality, and partners with cross-functional and client teams to translate business needs into actionable, tested solutions. The Consultant serves as a subject-matter resource on retail pricing and promotions best practices, supporting process improvement, business-process design, and testing activities that align initiatives with organizational goals and drive measurable results.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with retail clients to design and implement effective price and promotion planning strategies using SAP S/4HANA Retail.
- Configure and optimize SAP Merchandising and SAP Retail modules to support pricing and promotion business objectives.
- Analyze current pricing and promotional processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement industry best practices.
- Provide expert functional guidance on S/4HANA Retail pricing and promotions capabilities, including Promotion Management for Retail (PMR), Online Pricing and Promotions (OPP), and Condition Contract Pricing.
- Perform price calculation and margin logic analysis, and support regular and promotional price planning activities.
- Configure condition technique and POS outbound pricing to ensure accurate, timely price and promotion data flow to point-of-sale systems.
- Lead business-process design activities, including Blueprint and Fit-to-Standard workshops, and author business requirements and functional specification (FS) documents.
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), partnering with client and delivery teams to validate configured solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams to ensure seamless integration of pricing and promotion solutions with adjacent SAP modules and business processes.
- Support end users through training, troubleshooting, and ongoing system enhancements following go-live.
- Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 5-7 years of relevant SAP retail pricing and promotions consulting experience (7-10 years without a degree).
- Relevant SAP certification (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Retail, SAP Merchandising) or equivalent demonstrated hands-on expertise.
- Hands-on experience configuring S/4HANA Retail pricing and promotions; experience with Promotion Management for Retail (PMR), Online Pricing and Promotions (OPP), and Condition Contract Pricing strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with price calculation and margin logic, and regular/promotional price planning.
- Experience with condition technique and POS outbound pricing configuration.
- Experience with SAP functional configuration and customizing in a retail pricing/promotions environment.
- Experience with business-process design, Blueprint/Fit-to-Standard methodology, and requirements and functional specification (FS) authoring.
- Experience supporting SIT/UAT test cycles.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active government clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with SAP Merchandising and the broader SAP Retail suite beyond core pricing and promotions.
- Exposure to integrated business planning, demand, or assortment planning systems.
- Familiarity with data analytics and reporting platforms (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI) and workflow automation tools.
- Experience on large-scale retail transformation programs, including stakeholder management and organizational change management.
- Experience with adjacent SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM) or SAP Customer Activity Repository (CAR) condition-technique-based pricing.
- SAP Activate or Agile delivery methodology experience.
- Prior GovCon or public-sector consulting experience.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $125,000 – $140,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
