Position Summary:

The SAP EWM Techno-Functional Consultant designs, configures, implements, supports, and optimizes SAP Extended Warehouse Management solutions and serves as the primary link between business stakeholders, warehouse operations, and technical development teams. This role pairs deep functional EWM expertise with hands-on technical capability, including configuration, integration troubleshooting, enhancement support, debugging, testing, and deployment. Operating with a high degree of autonomy at the client site, the consultant supports live warehouse operations, leads solution design and improvement activities, and drives resolution of complex production issues spanning configuration, master data, interfaces, and custom development.

This position is based at the client facility in the Battle Creek, Michigan area and requires daily onsite presence. The consultant serves as the onsite representative of the C5MI delivery team, partnering with warehouse operations, functional, technical, and client leadership stakeholders to ensure SAP EWM solutions are stable, supportable, auditable, and aligned to operational objectives.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Partners with client stakeholders, warehouse operations personnel, and C5MI delivery leadership to gather, analyze, and document warehouse management requirements.
• Translates business requirements into functional specifications, technical specifications, and solution designs for SAP EWM.
• Configures SAP EWM processes including inbound and outbound delivery processing, goods receipt and goods issue, storage control, putaway and stock removal strategies, replenishment, physical inventory, handling unit management, warehouse task and warehouse order management, RF transactions, and warehouse monitoring.
• Supports and troubleshoots integration between SAP EWM and SAP S/4HANA, SAP TM, SAP ECC, material flow and automation platforms, RF/mobile devices, and external systems, including qRFC, IDoc, CIF, and interface error handling.
• Performs hands-on technical analysis including ABAP debugging, review of BAdI and enhancement implementations, and evaluation of custom developments to isolate and resolve defects.
• Develops and executes unit, functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance test scenarios; documents results and drives defect resolution to closure.
• Investigates and resolves complex production issues through configuration analysis, data analysis, and root-cause analysis, and recommends sustainable corrective actions.
• Collaborates with ABAP and integration developers on enhancements, interfaces, conversions, reports, forms, and workflows, and validates that delivered objects meet specification.
• Supports data migration, cutover planning, go-live readiness, and hypercare activities, including off-hours support during cutover windows as required.
• Evaluates the operational and system impact of Incidents (INCs), Change Requests (CRs), enhancements, and business-process changes, and recommends appropriate mitigation measures.
• Creates business-process documentation, configuration documentation, technical specifications, training materials, work instructions, and operational support procedures.
• Leads workshops, process reviews, solution design sessions, and end-user training with business and warehouse operations stakeholders.
• Identifies and recommends opportunities to improve warehouse throughput, inventory accuracy, labor productivity, system performance, and process compliance.
• Serves as the onsite face of the C5MI delivery team and a trusted advisor to the client on SAP EWM capabilities and warehouse operations.
• Reports onsite daily at the client facility in the Battle Creek, Michigan area to support project delivery and operational needs.
• Mentors junior consultants and promotes SAP EWM delivery standards and best practices across the project team.
• Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP EWM configuration and support experience.
• Minimum of two full lifecycle SAP EWM implementations, including cutover and go-live support.
• Demonstrated experience supporting SAP EWM production environments, including incident triage, root-cause analysis, and permanent corrective action.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude, including ABAP debugging and the ability to read and interpret custom code, BAdIs, and enhancement implementations.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting interfaces between SAP EWM and SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Demonstrated experience planning and executing functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Advanced working knowledge of SAP EWM across inbound processing, outbound processing, storage control, replenishment, physical inventory, handling unit management, warehouse task and warehouse order management, RF framework, labor and resource management, yard management, and slotting and rearrangement.
• Working knowledge of SAP EWM integration points and related components, including SAP S/4HANA, TM, MM, SD, PP, and QM.
• Knowledge of the SAP Activate methodology and structured delivery lifecycles.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, supportable technical solutions.
• Excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to warehouse and business audiences.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment while representing C5MI onsite.
• Must reside within daily commuting distance of Battle Creek, Michigan, or relocate prior to start; daily onsite presence at the client facility is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active government clearance, if contractually required (requires U.S. citizenship).

Nice to Have:

• SAP EWM certification.
• SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM or Decentralized EWM experience.
• Experience with warehouse automation, Material Flow System (MFS), RF devices, barcode and label printing, and material handling equipment.
• Experience with SAP TM and EWM/TM integration.
• Experience with Post Processing Framework (PPF) and output determination.
• Experience in DoD, DLA, federal, manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products environments.
• Experience supporting warehouse operations in a 24/7 or multi-shift distribution environment.
• Experience mentoring or leading small functional/technical teams in a matrixed delivery structure.

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $130,000 – $150,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
