About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Payments Business Expert to join our Payments Business department. This pivotal role involves deep dives into our payment ecosystem, leveraging expertise to optimize processing efficiency, manage complex relationships with payment providers, and strategically drive improvements in our overall payment structure and performance to maximize business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret performance indicators of payment processing, proactively identifying strategic trends and implementing data-driven optimizations to enhance acceptance rates and reduce costs.
  • Serve as the primary business contact and expert for all complex activities and strategic relationships with our payment providers, ensuring optimal configuration and service delivery.
  • Collaborate strategically with internal teams (e.g., Finance, Operations, Legal) to define and monitor service levels, proactively address critical concerns, and ensure robust regulatory and internal compliance.
  • Develop and present high-level, strategic reports detailing key payments indicators, performance deep dives, and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
  • Act as the payments subject matter expert working closely with Product and Engineering teams to define requirements, validate design, and ensure new payment flows are best-in-class, meet complex market standards, and comply with all payment provider and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the definition of business requirements and acceptance level for new functionalities, ensuring rigorous quality and business continuity.
  • Strategically evaluate and onboard potential payment providers, ensuring technical, functional, and commercial fit with our long-term objectives.
  • Oversee the resolution of complex issues with payment providers, focusing on root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
  • Lead the definition and strategic refinement of the overall payment structure to support business growth and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a senior or expert role within payments, FinTech, or e-commerce, demonstrating deep industry knowledge.
  • Good strategic analytical skills with the ability to model complex payment data, generate sophisticated business intelligence, and translate insights into high-impact business strategies.
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage strategic partnerships with external providers and influence cross-functional senior stakeholders.
  • Expert-level understanding of global payment technologies, emerging trends, industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, PSD2), and complex regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using tools to analyze complex findings, identify business opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of complex projects simultaneously and prioritize critical initiatives in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • A highly proactive, commercially astute and solution-oriented mindset.

Point of Data Transfer *
