Accounting Manager

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing, operating, and reviewing all accounting functions. This position will also help with ensuring and analyzing accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.  The Accounting manager will interface with accounting personnel and functional leaders to provide accurate timely reporting and analysis of financial information. This position will be located at company headquarters in Kennewick, WA.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer in all phases of the Association’s accounting operations
  • Responsible for managing the accounting staff
  • Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations
  • Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff
  • Assist in preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assist in external, internal, and regulatory audits
  • Preparation of federal income tax related entries and schedules inclusive of preparing and maintaining related support
  • Preparation of monthly B & O tax entries inclusive of preparing and maintaining related support
  • Review general ledger accounts and accounts payable entries and reports to verify accuracy and reasonableness of financial transactions
  • Prepare quarterly Reports
  • Perform accounting and regulatory research as needed
  • Provide assistance to the CFO with new projects and provide responses to various request for information
  • Preparation and update of accounting procedure manuals as needed
  • Process reports for other departments on a monthly basis
  • Maintain compliance with all other regulations and policies, as they relate to the primary duties and responsibilities outlined herein

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting preferred

Job Knowledge / Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Communicate clearly and professionally through listening, speaking, and writing skills
  • Strong business math skills; ability to explain & calculate interest rates, payments, loan factors etc.
  • Computer Skills: MS Office and Google applications, CRM databases, QuickBooks and other systems and applications as requested/required 
  • Complete work both independently and as an effective member of the team, adapting to changing requirements, deadlines, and priorities as needed
  • Critical success criteria include attention to detail, organized approach to work, effective time management and follow-through

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • General office positions may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision and 2-way written/verbal communication. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $120,000 USD
