Overview of the Role 

The SRW | C.A. VP Paid Media is a master at the art and science of creating media plans in the better-for-you CPG world. They understand the ins and outs of strategy and buying for digital, social, e-commerce and retailer media. They have a track record of implementing media strategies that lead to successful integrated campaigns and know how to prove out that success with clients. And, they are ready to apply this experience to building a paid media discipline at SRW | C.A. 
 
The VP Paid Media speaks data, creative and client. They specialize in translating insights into big picture thinking. They spot trends quickly and help our media and creative teams capitalize on them. They thrive on client interaction and simplifying even the most complex media metrics into digestible data points. Most of all, they have an entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude that inspires a nimble team of media planners and buyers they cultivate to build, sell, implement, optimize and report on media plans for our clients.  

  • Fully remote OR hybrid 2-3 days in office if local to Chicago, IL (within a 1 hour commute)
  • Salary: $165,000 - $200,000 based on experience, qualifications, and skills

What You’ll Do at C.A. Fortune 

  • Lead the charge for building a paid media practice within SRW | C.A. and be seen as the paid media subject matter expert for our internal team and clients 
  • Define current team structure, refine our tech stack, negotiate with media vendors and refine our pricing model 
  • Participate in RFPs and pitches to win new business for the agency 
  • Lead high level, priority client accounts and presentations to showcase the value our media team brings to client success 
  • Navigate challenges or pivots related to campaign spends; lead campaigns independently as needed 
  • Manage and empower a team of media planners and buyers to build integrated campaigns across multiple client accounts at once 
  • Craft the media story for key clients or new business opportunities; own the development of presentations and reports  
  • Provide thought leadership, strategic development, and deployment of media plans including audience development and understanding nuances across platforms 
  • Hone and develop skillsets amongst the team to manage strategy, delivery and optimization of paid campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google Ads, e-commerce, retailer media and more 
  • Perform paid media channel audits, recommendations, and stay up to date on best practices 
  • Ensure our strategic, integrated campaigns reflect client goals and meet outlined KPIs 
  • Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to optimize creative, messaging, and audiences across campaigns and platforms  
  • Prove out success for our clients through optimizations and effective reporting; lead your team to do the same 
  • Analyze KPI’s and provide recommendations for account improvement, across channels 
  • Keep up to date reporting dashboards and input key insights regularly  
  • Lead client reporting calls and internal staff meetings  
  • Communicate campaign performance, insights, and recommendations to client services, strategy, creative, and clients  
  • Evaluate media dashboards, reporting tools and agency processes to make recommendations for improvements 

What You Should Bring to the Table 

  • A degree in media, marketing, communications, or related field; or equivalency in experience 
  • 10+ years paid media strategy, planning and buying experience in the digital, social and e-commerce space; experience working with CPG brands is mandatory 
  • Working knowledge of retailer media is highly desired 
  • Must be a blackbelt in all things Google (Additional certifications in Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Social Media Platforms, Email marketing, and SEO are a plus) 
  • Track record of success managing and building teams of media planners and buyers

  • Analytical nature, strong problem-solving skills, and experience selling in work and navigating client relationships at an executive level   
  • Ability to lead campaigns independently when needed (get into the nitty gritty details) and guide a team to manage many campaigns successfully with your oversight 
  • Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams – client services, strategy, shopper marketing, public relations, influencer marketing and creative
