Overview of the Role
- Provide technical expertise within bakery including baking and cake decorating training, as well as marketing, merchandising, and sales strategies to support assigned customer accounts.
- Location: Oregon and Southern Washington
- Salary range $65,000+ based on experience, qualifications and skills.
- Must be able to travel more than 50% of the time.
- This position is employed by C.A. Fortune but once hired you will work with and represent Rise Baking Company. You will have dual managers to ensure you’re supported by both organizations.

What You’ll Do at C.A. Fortune and Rise Baking
- Provide training to in-store bakery associates on cake decorating and baking techniques and procedures for various products including frozen batters and mixes, icings, and thaw & sell products; carefully follow recipes and training procedures based on customer guidelines
- Prepare customer-specific procedure sheets
- Help develop and implement marketing and sales strategies for company product portfolio
- Help sales group inform customers of new types, specifications, and end uses of products
- Help develop and present new ideas and programs to assigned customer accounts
- Assist sales group with customer presentations
- Assist sales group with product launches
- Provide technical assistance to sales group with sales presentations and provide follow-up once the customer produces
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure best-in-class service and tools are provided to customers
- Assist in reporting/handling product complaints
- Accurately convey information to colleagues and management in a timely manner including, but not limited to, account changes, product changes, white space opportunities, and competitor information
- Comply with all food and safety requirements, training guidelines, policies, and procedures set forth by the company and customer
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
What You Should Bring to the Table
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of cake decorating and baking experience; grocery store bakery experience preferred
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to take and submit photos in various formats
- Ability to work in a bakery environment (kitchen) and operate baking and decorating equipment and other machinery
- Ability to work all shifts required by the customer (1st, 2nd, or 3rd)
- Self-starter with superior organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Highly motivated and goal oriented with the ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment
- Ability to bend and lift 25+ pounds
