VDC Engineer:
Cahill Contractors LLC is seeking a VDC Engineer to assist project teams and preconstruction with the implementation of Building Information Models (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methodologies.

About The Role:
The VDC Engineer will work directly with the VDC Manager to help start Cahill projects off on the right foot – by collaborating with trade partners and designers to virtually model and analyze upcoming projects while identifying and solving design and construction conflicts. The VDC Engineer needs to be able to successfully assist and support multiple BIM Coordination efforts simultaneously. The successful candidate must have knowledge of and experience with computer software, construction methods, and VDC systems as well as exceptional interpersonal & communication skills to push diverse teams towards positive resolution.
What You’ll Do:
- Continuous learning of the fundamentals of Virtual Design & Construction software and technologies.
- Manage 3D models for Architectural, Structural, and MEP systems using software like Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Sketchup.
- Run 3D MEPF clash detection, track coordination issues, and communicate with project teams, designers, and trade partners to resolve conflicts.
- Support communication between VDC, Design, and Field teams.
- Learn and use and deploy VDC tools like Drones, Total Stations, and Laser Scanners, and stay up to date on emerging technologies.
- Create 3D models for scope gap MEP Coordination.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with BIM Coordination efforts for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Manage Coordination models and proactively work with trade partners to resolve conflicts during coordination.
- Identify issues related to plans and specifications, especially as related to the use of the BIM model.
- Develop 3D Logistics Plans for current and prospective projects for marketing pursuits.
- Assist in the implementation of VDC/BIM processes and procedures.
- Train field staff to utilize BIM models during construction.
- Assist in reporting/assessment of coordination meetings, concerns, constraints, etc.
- Review 2D drawing sets and help with constructability reviews.
- Foster and enhance Designer, Engineer, Trade Partner, and Client relationships.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 0-2 years of related experience.
- Education: Minimum 4-year degree required.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve goals, be flexible and create/maintain process and structure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with BIM-related computer applications such as Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, and Sketchup.
- A dynamic team player who can work cross functionally with project teams, produce high-quality work, and manage multiple tasks across multiple projects.
- Proactive self-starter mentality.

The base salary for this role is targeted at between $85,000-95,000
