Senior Sales Engineer

We’re seeking a Sales Engineer to join the CAIS Solutions Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Solutions, this high visibility position will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by providing technical expertise, and solution recommendations to large and sophisticated clients across the financial services industry – including Asset Management and Wealth Management.  

As CAIS’ first sales engineer for our holistic alternatives operating system, this key position must bring a deep understanding of our client’s needs, industry trends, and the broader ecosystem of vendors and platforms. You will leverage your expertise to cultivate and drive sales opportunities with an enterprise mindset. You will work directly with the sales team to understand the needs of our customers, strategize on how to navigate winning sales cycles, support enterprise Proof of Concepts, and ultimately close business. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and implementation/delivery teams to ensure successful customer engagements that drive business objectives forward.

You are entrepreneurial, process-driven, and can build relationships with business & technology buyers. You are equally comfortable in both a business and technical context, interacting with executives and talking shop with technical audiences. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for prospects and clients, understanding their technical requirements, challenges, and objectives.
  • Custom Product Demonstrations: Collaborate with Solutions/Custom Fund SMEs on custom product demonstrations, showcasing the features, functionalities, and benefits of our fintech solutions to potential customers.
  • Solution Design: Work closely with clients to understand their unique business needs and challenges, and design tailored solutions that address their requirements effectively.
  • Pre-sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to respond to technical inquiries, and develop compelling proposals and presentations that articulate the value proposition of our fintech offerings.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC) Development: Develop and oversee the execution of proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of our solutions in addressing client needs.
  • Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to clients throughout the sales cycle, addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, engineering, marketing and implementation teams to communicate client feedback, gather product requirements, and drive continuous improvement of our fintech solutions.
  • Market Insights: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape within the fintech sector, and leverage this knowledge to inform sales strategies and product roadmap decisions. 

Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of financial services or alternative investment experience, with 4+ years in a technical sales or sales engineering role
  • Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences, and ability to present to various persona and levels within our prospect and customer organizations
  • Deep experience selling into financial services customers in the US, experience selling into Asset Managers and the Wealth Managers preferred
  • A passion for working on complex technical problems and have a strong understanding of customer challenges, pains, and opportunities, with the ability to articulate CAIS Solutions value accordingly  
  • A strong ability to build relationships with our partners and customers // The ability to listen actively, ask insightful questions, and tailor communication to different stakeholders is also important.
  • The flexibility to travel to meet customers, attend events or conferences or wherever the work takes you
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM for managing customer relationships, tracking sales activities, and generation reports
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, finance, business, or related field

CAIS’ compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $215,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
