We are looking for a product manager to join our growing team. This is an individual contributor role working within a portfolio of product managers that report into the group PM of alternative investments. This role will be pivotal in simplifying the process of managing, analyzing, and trading alternative investment products, likely focusing on a given lifecycle stage (product discovery, trade execution, post-trade management) in part, while also ensuring seamless connectivity across the larger user journey.  

The product manager will work closely with one or more product ‘squads’ of engineers and designers, as well as stakeholders across multiple teams, including investments, sales, client services, operations, and marketing to identify product opportunities, coordinate design and development plans, and manage delivery timelines. The ideal candidate is passionate about using creativity to solve complex problems within the wealth management industry for user groups including independent financial advisors and asset managers.  

In addition to serving as a product manager focused on alternative investments, this role joins a broader product team ranging in background and experience. While each product manager ‘owns’ their product area and often works end to end, PMs are held accountable to standard deliverables (PRDs, JIRA boards / tickets, etc.), plan as a team, and work towards a shared strategic product experience vision.

  • Other product areas include structured investments, data, and core experience. 
  • CAIS is largely a desktop first, web-based application, with select mobile first and/or React Native experiences. 

Responsibilities: 

Discovery 

  • In partnership with design, gather quantitative and qualitative insights through market research, user interviews, and analytics tools. 
  • In partnership with design and engineering, leverage discovery findings to create compelling cases in support of what problems to solve, potential solutions, and execution strategies. 
  • Distill findings into epics with the audience, purpose, and goals articulated, including KPIs and correlation to firm level OKRs. 
  • Meet with stakeholders and management for input on and prioritization of specific features as well as periodic reviews of a larger product strategy. 

Delivery 

  • Manage day to day operations of one or more products, running key ceremonies such as standups, refinements, and retrospectives. 
  • Create tickets and project plans for in-flight work to ensure transparency on delivery timelines and clarity in execution. 
  • Provide updates and demonstrations to clients and the broader organization throughout the build and in preparation of go-to-market. 

Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 4+ years of relevant experience or 2+ years with master’s degree - financial services industry required (alternative investments and/or wealth management strongly preferred), experience with developing portfolio analytics or management tools a plus 

Technical Skills & Product Literacy 

  • Understanding and interest in market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics of independent wealth management and alternative investments. 
  • Proficiency in requirements tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and agile methodologies, familiarity with t-shirt sizing and other early estimation frameworks. 
  • Demonstrated experience in product launches, managing complex programs, and delivering critical projects.

  • Resourceful self-starter with a positive, flexible, can-do attitude.  
  • Collaborative team player with high EQ and sense of empathy balanced with an ownership mentality.  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings and workshops both within and across firms.
