Senior Associate, Alternative Investments

We are seeking an Alternative Investments Product Manager to join the Investment Solutions team. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of product and partnership, working closely with the largest asset and wealth management platforms. Focusing on the product lifecycle and ongoing support for our asset manager segment — this role is helping transform the way the wealth channel accesses Private Markets.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Origination & Onboarding

Serve as an embedded resource within the Origination team, managing the end-to-end process for new fund launches:

  • Engage proactively with incremental GP relationships to expand the platform pipeline
  • Advise on fund structures, terms, and positioning based on competitive intelligence and target client base
  • Collect and synthesize competitive intelligence — fundraising, fees, structures — from databases, Sales, and wealth management channels
  • Contribute to product approval materials and review fund legal documents
  • Establish and manage cross-functional working groups (Investments, Operations, Tax, Legal & Compliance, Marketing, Finance, Technology) to ensure on-time fund launches
  • Assist with due diligence coordination — investor Q&A, meetings with investment teams, and approval processes

Asset Manager Relationship Management

Provide dedicated support for CAIS's asset manager relationships, delivering a consistent and high-quality manager experience:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for asset manager relationships across the platform
  • Conduct dashboard and reporting training, sales pipeline education, and advisor-facing teach-in programs
  • Drive adoption of self-service marketing, sales, and operational tools
  • Coordinate with Sales teams on regional events, roadshows, and manager engagement activities
  • Manage escalations and navigate across CAIS teams to resolve operational and client experience issues

Investment Product Management

Own the product strategy, lifecycle, and cross-functional execution for new and emerging investment structures on the CAIS platform:

  • Lead product strategy and roadmap development for net-new investment structures, including SMAs, ETF solutions, Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs), Exchange Funds (XF), long/short tax strategies, and other emerging structures
  • Drive new product introduction and operationalization from concept through launch
  • Manage ongoing product lifecycle — performance tracking, enhancements, and optimization
  • Identify platform gaps and growth opportunities; translate them into actionable product initiatives
  • Design and improve the asset manager experience across onboarding, reporting, and ongoing engagement
  • Serve as the cross-functional coordinator across Investments, Technology, Operations, Legal, and Sales

Qualifications

Experience

  • 4–8 years in alternative investments, product management, product development, investor/advisor relations, or financial services strategy
  • Hands-on experience with private fund structures — private equity, private credit, real estate, hedge funds, and/or emerging structures (SMAs, DSTs, ETFs preferred)
  • Prior experience working across cross-functional teams (Legal, Operations, Technology, Compliance, Sales) in a product or launch capacity
  • Background in client-facing or GP/advisor relationship roles a strong plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfort with fund economics and performance metrics
  • Excellent project management skills — ability to run multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Clear, confident communicator — able to translate complex investment concepts for internal stakeholders, advisors, and asset manager partners
  • Self-starter with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset; comfortable operating independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; CRM experience (Salesforce preferred)
  • Series 7 or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
  • CFA, CAIA, or MBA a plus

CAIS’ compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $165,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
