The Opportunity

The Manager, People Operations is a high-impact operator who combines technical rigor with strong empathy to deliver an exceptional employee experience. This role owns the execution and continuous improvement of core People programs, ensuring scalable, efficient workflows that support company growth. This position oversees the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including employee experience and engagement, HR systems administration, benefits, performance management and compliance. As a key cultural steward, the Manager, People Operations builds strong cross-functional relationships to support a high-performing, engaged workforce. This role reports to the Director, People and may manage direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting:

  • Own and optimize recruiting operations, including ATS management, agency partnerships, interview coordination, and offer execution
  • Streamline processes to improve candidate experience and hiring efficiency

Financial & Benefits Operations:

  • Lead end-to-end payroll for multi-state workforce with accuracy and compliance
  • Manage 401(k) administration, including reporting and annual testing
  • Support benefits administration and drive employee utilization and understanding

Employee Lifecycle & Experience:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, delivering timely, service-oriented support
  • Partner on employee engagement initiatives and programs
  • Identify process gaps and implement scalable, automated solutions while maintaining a human-centered approach.

Compliance & Governance:

  • Own HRIS administration, ensuring data integrity and delivering actionable reporting
  • Maintain audit-ready employee records and documentation
  • Monitor evolving labor laws and proactively update policies and the employee handbook

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR / People Operations experience, including experience in a high-growth environment (startup experience preferred)
  • Experience administering 401(k) plans and working knowledge of US employment laws
  • Experience in medical device, biotech, or other regulated industries is a plus
  • Proven track record in a growth environment
