About the team & opportunity
*This is a hybrid role with an expectation of working in our San Francisco office 2 times per week.
We're looking for a Staff Product Designer for our New Products team, you’ll have the rare opportunity to shape the future of Calendly’s multi-product strategy. This role is focused on incubating and validating new 0-to-1 product ideas, with many of these ideas leveraging the power of AI. As a key team member, you’ll be shaping the user experience for millions of users, designing simple and intuitive experiences that improve our users' day-to-day work.
We believe that great design starts with talking with our users and that the best solutions come from interdisciplinary collaboration. You’ll be part of Calendly’s incredible Design team, collaborating with other Product Designers, UX Researchers, Content Designers, Design Systems, Product Managers, and Engineers to bring new solutions to life that provide value to our customers.
A day in the life of a Staff Product Designer on the New Products team at Calendly
On a typical day, you will:
- Lead design work across multiple complex areas, creating easy to use experiences and driving customer value.
- Design holistic, scalable solutions that balance user needs, business goals, and system constraints.
- Drive discovery and research to understand customer problems and inform product direction.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, other Product Designers, Content Design, and Design Systems to collaborate, align, shape decisions, and make tradeoffs.
- Share clear recommendations through strong storytelling that aligns teams and leaders.
- Identify and drive system-level improvements that raise the quality, consistency, and usability of the product.
- Be an additive design team member by mentoring and collaborating with other designers, participating in critique, sharing expertise, and helping elevate design quality and culture.
What do we need from you?
- 8+ years designing and delivering impactful digital product experiences in product-led B2B or B2C companies
- Proven experience driving design outcomes at scale, balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints across complex systems.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, system-level solutions, and measurable impact on both customer experience and business outcomes.
- Exceptional design storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to influence product direction and tradeoff decisions with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
- A track record of acting as a trusted design leader, mentoring designers, improving processes, and elevating design quality across teams.
- Experience designing AI features and using AI to provide real value to solopreneurs and small business owners is a plus, but not required.
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America, as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time.
Tier 1 Salary Hiring Range
$242,870.16 - $307,159.32 USD
The ranges listed above are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.
Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee’s starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity.
Base salary is just one component of Calendly’s total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for our Top Performer Bonus program (or Sales incentive), equity awards, and competitive benefits.
Calendly uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows:
- Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY
- Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA.
- Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2
