Manager, Brand Design
The Position
CallRail is looking for a seasoned and strategic Manager of Brand Design to lead and evolve our brand expression across all touchpoints. In this role, you’ll be responsible for stewarding the visual identity of our brand, overseeing a team of talented designers, both in-house and freelance, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams to bring our brand to life in meaningful, consistent, and compelling ways.
While leadership and strategy are key, this role also requires a strong individual contributor mindset—you’ll be just as comfortable designing key assets yourself as you are guiding others through the work.
This role will report directly to the Director of Project Management and Design.
What You'll Do
- Brand Design Leadership: Accountable for the visual brand identity, ensuring consistency, creativity, and clarity across all channels—from web to email heroes. Provide strategic creative leadership for campaigns, product launches, and marketing initiatives. Review, contribute to, and approve visual assets to maintain brand excellence.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a single in-house brand designer while leading a stacked bench of freelance creatives. Foster a collaborative, inclusive design culture across internal and external partners, ensuring alignment and quality across all work.
- Hands-On Design: Take on key design work as needed, from campaign creative to brand system updates—especially during high-volume moments or when leading by example is the right move.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing partners to align brand expression with business goals. Manage stakeholder feedback while bringing a strong perspective and point of view.
- Brand Governance: Own and evolve brand guidelines, ensuring the system is scalable, flexible, and well-documented for internal and external partners.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external creative partners including freelance designers, animators, illustrators, and others as needed.
- Design Operations: Oversee project scoping, prioritization, and resourcing to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of experience in brand design, with at least 2+ years in a management role
- A strong portfolio showcasing a range of brand work—from brand systems to large-scale campaigns
- Experience building and maintaining design systems and brand guidelines
- Proven ability to lead teams, give constructive feedback, and inspire creative excellence
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite & Figma
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably in a SaaS organization
If you do not meet all the requirements listed, we still encourage you to apply! No job description is perfect, and we may also have another opportunity that aligns with your skills and experience.
