The Tax Senior Associate plays a critical role on the engagement team that is both internal and client facing. As a Tax Senior Associate, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Working closely with engagement managers and partners, you will be the primary lead on tax engagements, including scheduling, staffing, and completing returns; providing the first level of technical review; performing research on various technical matters and managing both internal and client deadline expectations.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and act as the primary client contact to proactively gather tax information, ensure that client emails / questions are responded to in a timely manner, identify tax planning opportunities, and escalate questions/concerns  to the engagement manager or partner.
  • Ensure that quarterly estimates and year end projections are prepared and reviewed.
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices.
  • Supervise, train and mentor Tax Associates and Interns, including acting as a Project Manager to ensure that they can adequately prioritize and complete their assigned work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in accounting
  • CPA eligible
  • Active CPA license preferred
  • Actively pursuing CPA license is required
  • 2-3 years or more of experience, preferably in public accounting
  • Proficient in partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and / or individual taxation
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software suite
  • Excellent ability to perform technical tax research, summarize, and communicate findings
  • Excellent skills in coaching and developing tax associates and interns
  • Desire to give back to your community
