In your role as an Advisory Senior Associate, you will support our Advisory team as we provide strategic guidance, technical advice, and support high-growth and ambitious entrepreneurs and clients in venture capital, private equity, private middle-market enterprise, and global corporations across diverse industries.  Advisory Senior Associates at Calvetti Ferguson are valued team members and leaders across a diverse range of project areas including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, valuations, technical accounting and reporting, governance, risk, and controls, and technology advisory.

  • Buy-side and Sell-side Due Diligence and Quality of Earnings
  • Entity and Asset Valuations
  • Transaction Readiness
  • Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Advisory
  • Governance, Risk, and Control Advisory, including SOX and Internal Audit
  • Technology Advisory, including SOC Reports, Cyber Risk and Automation

During your tenure as an Advisory Senior Associate, you will Support the delivery of diverse projects across domains and industries through:

  • Rapidly and effectively obtaining an understanding of each client, their business and industry, strategic priorities, and values and their application to each project.
  • Development of project proposals including client meetings, development of scoping analyses, budgets, staffing and skills assessments, proposal documents, and contract preparation.
  • Project Management and Administration including project plans, skills and staffing management, real-time and dynamic team guidance, management, supervision and coaching, effective internal and client communications, budget-to-actual and billing management.
  • Performing detailed and often complex data and analytical tasks using a broad range of practice, industry, and innovative tools to develop risk assessments, financial spreading, analytics and analysis, and forecasts as well as evaluating client-provided files, data, and documents for completeness, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Demonstrating and applying a thorough understanding of US GAAP, risk and control frameworks and methodologies, and applying specialized industry and technical expertise to new, complex, and ambiguous circumstances.
  • Performing industry, market, accounting, and regulatory research to develop summaries, interpretations, assess applicability, identify potential risks or considerations, and prepare points-of-view and insights supported by proprietary analysis as well as authoritative and interpretative guidance.
  • Developing clear, concise, and insightful client deliverables of excellent quality in the form of presentations, memos, and analytical files such as transaction databooks or valuations.
  • Building and fostering strong interpersonal relationships and bonds with teammates, colleagues, clients and the broader business community.
  • Being a firm and practice ambassador in the community and on campus.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to maintaining the highest-quality professional standards and live our Values.
  • Complying with all relevant professional standards, laws and regulations, ethical standards, independence requirements, and the Firm's quality control procedures.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Multidisciplinary majors, minors, or advanced degrees across Accounting, Finance, and/or Technology are an added advantage.  Other non-business areas of study or skills that demonstrate curiosity, critical thinking, and diverse areas of interest are also a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in your current location and eligibility for reciprocity in your target office location.
  • Additional certifications, or a desire to obtain additional certifications, such as CFA, CVA, ABV, CFE, CIA, or CISA are an added advantage.
  • At least two (2) years’ professional experience in external audit, transaction diligence, or internal controls advisory.
  • Experience with a Big 4 or other industry-leading CPA firm is an added advantage.
  • Experience with private equity and venture capital fund clients and high-growth and middle-market companies is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in M365 Office suite products.  Experience working with industry tools, automation software, artificial intelligence, and similar tools is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for client meetings and proposals, business events and conferences, and team collaboration.
