Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Tester to join our team and ensure the delivery of high-quality software. In this role, you will leverage your experience in manual and automation testing, apply strong analytical skills, and work with tools like JIRA, SQL, and test case design. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to identify defects and enhance software functionality.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on project requirements.
- Perform functional, UI, regression, and cross-browser testing to identify and document defects.
- Log and track issues in JIRA, working closely with developers and product managers to ensure timely resolution.
- Write and execute basic MySQL and Postgres queries to validate backend data and ensure database integrity.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress to improve test efficiency.
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman to validate endpoints and data flows.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and ensure software quality.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning and daily standups.
- Provide clear and detailed documentation for test cases, test results, and bug reports.
- Ability to work standard business hours aligned with U.S. Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific Time Zones.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, including manual and automation testing.
- Strong understanding of test case design, execution, and defect tracking.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA for logging and managing bugs.
- Experience with SQL and ability to write basic queries for data validation.
- Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman.
- Experience with AI testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with functional, regression, UI, and exploratory testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting and explaining defects clearly.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
- Experience with automation testing using Cypress.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub.
- Understanding of financial technology, particularly student loans.
