About the Role: 

Come Ride With Us as our Technical Services Manager at Cannondale's beautiful factory in Almelo, Netherlands. Reporting into our Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, you'll be at the heart of keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently. In this hands-on management role, you’ll take charge of organizing and overseeing maintenance in the technical department, production equipment, and technical systems, ensuring everything is safe, reliable, and ready for action. You'll also play a critical role in supporting the implementation of new production tools and equipment, helping to drive innovation and continuous improvement on the shop floor. Note: This is not a remote position. This role is based at the Cannondale Almelo location 5 days/week.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Manage one employee in the Technical Department (TD) and oversee goal setting, supervision, and team development
  • Plan and schedule maintenance and breakdown work, coordinating with operations to minimize disruption
  • Develop and maintain a maintenance system that ensures maximum availability of technical installations within budget, including scheduled work during production and company shutdowns
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering by developing tools and solutions that improve (pre-)assembly efficiency and reduce errors
  • Monitor machine reliability, analyze failures, and implement preventive measures to improve uptime and safety
  • Oversee maintenance of plant, machinery, tools, and technical administration, ensuring compliance with safety laws and regulations
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, purchase materials, and cutting tools, ensuring timely availability
  • Coordinate internal vs. external maintenance responsibilities and supervise fault repair services
  • Track and manage the maintenance budget, addressing potential overruns in collaboration with department managers
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and promote 5S practices, safety rounds, and cleanliness inspections
  • Advise on technical topics and collaborate cross-functionally on improvements and safety initiatives

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Completed technical HBO education or demonstrable HBO working and thinking level
  • Leadership experience within a Technical Department
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience 
  • You speak and write fluent Dutch and English
  • Some knowledge of applicable techniques such as mechanical, structural and control engineering, welding technology and pneumatics
  • Knowledge of all common machinery and current scheduled maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of and experience in organizing work and leadership
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and order/budget administration
  • Knowledge of LEAN methods and techniques and knows in which situation to apply them
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Passion for cycling/outdoor sports is a plus
