About the Role: 

Here's a brand new role on our global IT team in our incredible Almelo facility. As a System Administrator, you'll play a critical role in supporting and optimizing our hybrid technology environment. In this role, you’ll serve as a technical expert, managing everything from hardware and software troubleshooting to designing integrated systems. You'll dive deep into our existing infrastructure, and design, test, and bring real value with the tools we have to make it even better, helping to shape the future of our IT landscape across global operations, including direct support for our manufacturing and assembly plant systems. Note: This is not a remote position. This role is based at our Almelo, Netherlands location.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing IT architecture/infrastructure, and technology portfolio
  • Conduct research on products, services and emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility
  • Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems
  • Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performanceReport findings and make recommendations for improvement
  • Develop, implement, maintain policies, procedures, and associate training plans for infrastructure administration
  • Design and review of new systems, applications, and hardware; conduct capacity planning as needed
  • Recommend, and where necessary, schedule and perform security improvements and upgrades
  • Compile and maintain inventory of company software assets and track their corresponding licenses to ensure compliance
  • Manage servers, storages, including e-mail, print, and backup and their associated operating systems and software 
  • Conduct annual disaster recovery tests and document results
  • Manage and troubleshoot hybrid network environments, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises and cloud infrastructures
  • Monitor and optimize LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless infrastructure performance, ensuring compliance with security standards
  • Provide support for assembly plant infrastructure systems and applications (including manufacturing execution system, handheld scanners, MDM, security systems/cameras and label printers) 
  • Provide end user support and coordinate with local vendors as needed 

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience  
  • 3-5 years related work experience
  • In-depth technical knowledge of networking hardware, software and protocols, PC, and platform operating systems. (Knowledge of Linux is desirable) 
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software evaluation principles and practice 
  • Previous exposure to server virtualization technologies
  • Experience with warehouse systems such as Zebra, SOTI, VisiTrak and BarTender 
  • Advanced knowledge in any of the following areas is desirable: Azure, Office365, iSCSI, Windows Server, Exchange, CISCO / Meraki firewalls, switches and routers, Meraki Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, network protocols, LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall management, and operating system configuration, security, as well as Active Directory
  • Previous experience working in a global environment 
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise deployment technologies such as Intune, SCCM, MDT, WSUS, Group Policy Object 
  • Strong knowledge of automation programming skills PowerShell, VBScript, Bash 
  • Experience with cloud computing (Azure), desktop virtualization and unified communications are desirable. 
  • Experience in datacenter monitoring tools (Datadog)
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, including active listening
  • Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required
  • Strong customer-service orientation and a high level of analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
