The Opportunity
In this cross-functional role of a Product BI Analyst, you will work with our customers to provide actionable insights by transforming raw data into customer outcomes. You will create accurate and insightful reporting and play a crucial role in helping to guide Canopy’s data-driven strategies.
This can be a hybrid position in South Jordan, Utah (M, W, F in-office) or fully remote based from Utah.
What You’ll Do
Data Analysis & Insight Generation
- Build and model reports, dashboards, and visualizations for Canopy Customers to help them operate their accounting firms.
- Translate high-level customer needs into consumable reports and data.
- Analyze complex data sets, providing insights that drive strategic decision-making.
- Use ThoughtSpot, SQL, Snowflake, Excel, and more to give customers visualizations when and where they need them.
- Use data to answer the difficult questions that no one else can.
Communication & Collaboration
- Collaborate with other teams to gather requirements, define problems, and deliver answers.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with our customers to understand their business needs and provide strategic guidance.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor and measure the performance of your BI solutions, ensuring data accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
- Identify areas for improvement and optimization, proposing and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the company.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is required.
- At least 4-5 years experience in a BI role, with a focus on business intelligence, data analysis, and reporting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data visualization tools and technologies, such as Power BI, ThoughtSpot, ClickView.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and data query languages, including experience with Snowflake or Redshift.
- Knowledge of basic concepts of data warehousing, data modeling, ETL processes, and database management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points
- Experience in B2B SaaS.
- Experience with Accounting / Tax.
- Mathematical or statistical experience.

Interviewing @ Canopy:
Application processes can be a little stressful. Here are the stages of a typical interview process at Canopy:
- Once your application is received, we will review it and get back to you if we feel like it’s a mutual fit!
- 20-minute phone call with the People Team.
- 45-60-minute video or in-person interview with the Hiring Manager.
- 1-3 rounds of interviews, depending on the role.
- Final Interview.
Interview processes can vary depending on the role. The People Team will give you a role-specific overview of the process during your first phone call.
